Approach (mLearning)
INTRODUCTION
2. Is there a significant effect of using Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning) to the problem
solving skills involving time of the grade one pupils?
3. What are the other factors to be considered in integrating mLearning in teaching grade one
pupils?
4. Is there a significant difference between the pre-test and post test scores of the pupils using the
mLearning?
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
The conceptual framework of this study is represented in the paradigm that follows:
Develop the
pupils knowledge
and skills in
using modern
devices.
Figure 1. The Conceptual Framework for Enhancing Pupils’ Problem Solving Skills Involving
Time through Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning)
The figure shows the concept of the research entitled Enhancing the Pupils Problem
Solving Skills Involving time through Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning). The input is the
variables that focus on the difficulties of pupils’ problem solving skills involving time. The
process include the Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning) and the result or output of this will
be: pupils will learn to solve problems involving time; learning how to recognize time using an
analog clock; and develop the pupils’ knowledge and skills in using modern devices.
Pupils. The pupils will gain sufficient ideas and knowledge in integrating the mobile learning
approach that will enhance the problem solving skills involving time. to know the effectiveness
of mobile learning in improving the academic performance of the pupils in times of pandemic.
Teachers. The academic performances of the pupils enable the teachers to discover various
strategies on how to provide higher quality of education that they can use and apply when
instances like pandemic happened.
Parents. This study would help the parents to guide their children in achieving an excellent
academic performance. The parents will able to know the proper use of modern devices inside
their house.
Future Researchers. The result of this study may serve as guideline for future researchers in
establishing further research about the development of pupils’ problem-solving skills involving
time.
Administrators. This study will help every school administrator to find ways on how to cope up
in every challenge and continue the study of the pupils amidst the pandemic.
Community. This study is not just beneficial for some individuals and it will help the
community to know alternative strategies that everyone can use during this kind of pandemic.
HYPOTHESIS
The study has the following expected outcome:
Alternative Hypothesis
There is a significant effect on using Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning) in pupils' problem-
solving skills involving time.
Null Hypothesis
There is no significant effect on using Mobile Learning Approach (mLearning) in pupils'
problem-solving skills involving time.
Methodology
This chapter present the research design, sampling procedure, data gathering technique.

collection that enables them to determine the situation more completely than was possible
relationship between two variables. This experiment manipulates one variable while a second
An important characteristic of experimental research relates to the fact that this research
design can employ two numbers of variables that can show cause-and-effect between the two
variables.
In this study, the researchers used experimental research to determine the effectiveness of
A purposive sampling relies on the judgment of the researchers when choosing who to
ask to participate. Researcher’s may implicitly thus choose a representative sample to suit for the
study.
Participants of this study are the Grade 1 A.Mabini pupils and the teacher of Palapala
Elementary School in San Ildefonso Bulacan. The researchers obtained the total population of
The researchers used test (post-test and pre-test) as its main tool for gathering the needed
data for the study. The test consisted time related questions that will answered by Grade 1 A.
Mabini together with an interview type test that will be answered by the teacher of by the Grade
