V. GUIDING PRINCIPLE IN LIFE

We tend to wait for another time to finish and do a task assigned to


us but we disregard the importance of a second in our lives. Present time
becomes a wasted time a few minutes later on. Life is so short but we forget
to realize the value of time that a single minute of it may be the last minute of
our lives. Therefore, I learned to value and treasure the remaining time of life
by doing what is expected of me by the people and God, today and not to wait
for tomorrow.

I. Rationale
This part will explain the reason why do we have a student-teaching
training. Give a detailed elaboration on the advantages of such training before
engaging into actual profession as teachers.

II. Laboratory School


This part gives details about the school where you had your training –
location, short history of the school, number of teachers, student population
and then, state your general impression of the school. Don’t forget to include
the complete name of the current Principal/Administrator and the Practicum
Supervisor of the school.

III. First Day of Student-Teaching


This part relates your experience during your first day of duty. What
was the first activity of that day? How did you meet your cooperating teacher?
How did the students react to your presence? What were the reminders of
your cooperating teacher? What were the activities you have done that day?
What did you feel during your first day of duty?

IV. Most Challenging Experience


This part gives details on your experiences during your student-
teaching training which gives details as to the most challenging part of
student-teaching training. This might be the most embarrassing, annoying,
disappointing, stressful experiences with your students, fellow student-
teachers, cooperating teacher, family or other individuals who affect your
performance during your training. Please elaborate the reason/s or the
cause/s behind that experience. Enumerate these experiences by
paragraphs. There is no limit as to the number of pages and paragraphs for
this part.
V. Most Satisfying Experience
This part gives details on your experiences during your student-
teaching training which gives details as to the most gratifying part of student-
teaching training. This might be the happiest, heartwarming, and satisfying
experiences with your students, fellow student-teachers, cooperating teacher,
family or other individuals who affect your performance during your training.
Please elaborate the reason/s or the cause/s behind that experience.
Enumerate these experiences by paragraphs. There is no limit as to the
number of pages and paragraphs for this part.

VI. Reflections
This relates your reflections as a future teacher based on your
experience as a student-teacher. What made you decide to finally choose this
profession? What are your reservations if there is any? How do you cope with
your tensions during your training? How did you manage your class? What is
your general impression to your teaching experience and actual classroom
management? There is no limit as to the number of paragraphs for this part
as long as it’s not lesser than two.

VI. Documentations
This part will portray your experiences through pictures. All the
classroom demonstrations that are important to you and all the school
activities that you are involved. Print your pictures and also include captions
for each picture. At least twelve (12) printed pictures (4 pictures per page
only, of the same size) should be included with yourself present in each
picture.

This part will display your photo-op with your cooperating teacher. This is a
one-page picture with the complete name, title and designation of your CT and

VIII. Recommendations
This part will discuss your point of view as to the weaknesses of the student-
teaching training (before, during and after the training) from your home institution to
your laboratory school. This might include individuals to whom you would like to
address your recommendation to improve the services for a better training for future
educators. Please specify the things you would like to recommend for action.

Note: After this part, include in the portfolio the photocopy of your final grade (PRE-
SERVICE TEACHER’S OVER-ALL PERFORMANCE RATING SHEET) and the
CLEARANCE from your laboratory school.

Reminders:
This is a requirement before you will be signed on your Application for
Graduation. Paper Size – 8.5 x 11 (Short), Font Size – 12.5, Font Style – Arial, Left
Margin – add .5, Spacing – 1.5, Alignment – Justified. This narrative report should be
soft bounded with Royal Blue cover. This requirement should have a minimum of 25
pages. Include also in your softbound the photocopied final rating of your
cooperating teacher for your OJT performance, and clearance (At the last pages).

Not following any of these necessities means rejection of the output.
