Introduction of UBL:

United Bank Limited (UBL) is a Pakistani multinational commercial bank that is a subsidiary of British
company Bestway Group, which was founded in 1959 by Agha Hasan Abedi, and under his leadership, it
became the second-largest bank in Pakistan. Its first branch is based in Karachi, Pakistan. It is one of the
largest banks in the Pakistani private sector, with over 1,400 branches across Pakistan, 19 branches
overseas, and a customer base exceeding 4 million.

The bank has an asset base above $15 billion, a global workforce of almost 13,000 people, and a
diversified client base covering a broad spectrum of segments and industries across the globe. UBL
provides services in wholesale and retail banking through its network of branches and presence across
12 countries in four continents including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, UK, Switzerland, China, Oman,
US, Tanzania, Iran, and Pakistan. UBL's Priority Banking service is born out of the desire of today’s
customers for a comfortable and personalized environment where they can discuss an array of financial
services, be it personal or business-related. The proposition suits clients who come from varied

1. Job specification for a branch manager:
This position is responsible for ensuring business development activities to boost branch business and
achieve expected/budgetary level of growth in all key areas. Also to ensure constant improvements in
portfolios inclusive of deposit mobilization, liability products, secured and unsecured assets and anyone
cross shell on shelves propositions such as insurance and wealth management portfolios. Also to
established and maintain customer relationships and to ensure quality customer service with the banks
internal control and regulatory compliance framework.

Responsibilities:

To achieve all assigned KPIs targets according to the performance scoreboard.

To market new relationships and to ensure the budgeted run rate of account opening is achieved.

To make sure that quality lending relationships are tapped and reserved after thorough analysis and
effort. To supervise the branch staff and support them in achieving their personal targets and build up
the cross sell among the branch team.

Service quality:

To ensure standardized services and fair treatment of customers by monitoring key performance
indicator that impact costumer views towards the bank.
Ensure that highest ethical standard is maintained in rendering the best customer services to the client
maintaining harmony among all among all departments and staff of the branch.

Compliances:

To ensure the adherence statutory and regulatory requirements by central bank.

To ensure compliance with all the internal control requirements and bank policies.

Skills required:

Must have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Must have a clear understanding and complete knowledge of regulatory procedures, band
rules/regulations etc.

Must have strong marketing / relationship management skills.

Qualification:

Minimum bachelor degree holder.

3 years of supervisor experience as branch manager with the financial institution.

Experience in hiring and training individuals.

Lending / trade related experience will be required.
