    Fractions – Grade 4 - Mabini

    A. Content Standard
    The learners show understanding to the topic.
    B. Performance Standard
    The learner is able to change improper fractions to mixed forms and vice versa.
    C. Learning Competency
    Changing improper fractions and mixed forms and vice versa. (M4NS-IIe-80)

    I. OBJECTIVES

    At the end of the forty-five minute period, all the students of Grade 4 Mabini must
    have:
    a) identified improper fractions and mixed forms using flashcards.
    b) changed improper fractions to mixed forms and vice versa.
    c) observed a diagram of improper fraction and mixed forms.

    II. SUBJECT MATTER

    Title: “Changing improper fractions and mixed forms and vice versa”

    Reference: MISOSA module Gr. 4 – Improper to Mixed Numbers


    Instructional Materials: Flash cards, cartolina, powerpoint presentation, and pentel
    pen.
    Skills: reasoning, computing ang solving.
    Values Integration: accuracy, objectivity, and productivity.

    III. PROCEDURE

    A. Preliminary Activities

    1. Prayer
    The class will have a prayer.
    2. Greetings
    The teacher will greet the students and vice versa.
    3. Checking of attendance
    The teacher will check the attendance.
    4. Classroom management
    The students will arrange the chairs.

    B. Review
    The teacher facilitates the review using a flash cards and the student will identify the
    fraction if it is a proper, improper or mixed form
    C. Motivation

    The teacher will present a video of changing improper to mixed form.

    D. Lesson Proper
    The teacher will present a diagram, afterwards the lesson will start after the activity.

    The student will observe the diagram.

    Changing improper fractions and mixed forms


    - To change an improper fraction to a mixed number, divide the numerator by the
    denominator. The quotient becomes the whole number part and the remainder
    becomes the numerator and the divisor becomes the denominator of the fraction
    part.
    Changing mixed fraction to improper fraction
    - To change a mixed fraction to an improper fraction, multiply the whole number by the
    denominator. Add the product to the numerator to get the numerator of improper fraction.

    Note: The teacher will present more examples so as students shall master the
    competency.

    E. APPLICATION
    The teacher will have an activity to the whole class. The class will be divided into 4
    groups. And each group have the different problem to solve
