*WHAT I CAN DO
Activity 7.1.2:
1. Qualitative data analysis is the process of… inductive. The analyst identifies important
categories in the data, as well as patterns and relationships, through a process of
discovery. Often no predefined measures or hypotheses
2. Qualitative data analysis differs from quantitative data analysis because… quantitative
analysis involves looking at the hard data, the actual numbers. Qualitative analysis is less
tangible. It concerns subjective characteristics and opinions – things that cannot be
expressed as a number.
3. The stages of coding result in the extraction of… categorization can be done is phases,
by combining concepts into subcategories.
4. In grounded theory, the last phase of qualitative data analysis is the generation of a…
different from the traditional scientific model of research, where the researcher chooses
an existing theoretical framework, develops one or more hypotheses derived from that
framework, and only then collects data for the purpose of assessing the validity of the
hypotheses.
5. Codes to be generated from qualitative data analysis could be about… to find common
themes and concepts is part of thematic analysis, which is part of qualitative data analysis

LESSON 2
*WHAT’S NEW
Activity 7.2.1:
1.
A. What is this woman doing? How did you know?
The woman in the picture was calling someone on the phone, maybe she was
hired in job, because the paper in her hand maybe is her resume for her
application paper
B. Where do you think this woman is? What is your proof for your claim?
I think the woman is an applicant my proof is the picture itself
C. Is she there for work or for pleasure? What makes you think so?
She is there for work, because she is wearing formal attire and holding a
resume paper
2.
A. Where is this person? Philippines
B. How did you know? Write the clues to justify your answer:
(1) Direct evidence from the text: It is already said in the text that the person is
in the Philippines
(2) Prior knowledge/experience: Weather, flowers, culture
(3) Logical reasoning: It is because of the tropical weather in the Philippines

*WHAT’S MORE
Activity 7.2.2:
1. Formal education, Decent job, Savings, Financial independence
Interpretation: Being educated person you can live a better life
2. Nothing to eat, Hunger, forced to steal food, Incarceration
Interpretation: Poverty
3. Sleeplessness due to obsession with online games, poor games, sad
Interpretation: Too much games can lead to bad habits
4. Drug addiction, neuronal destruction and brain atrophy, mental instability, insanity
Interpretation: Destroying one’s life
5. Lives in a squatter’s area, unable to eat 3x a day, worn-out clothes
Interpretation: Poverty

*WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

Activity 7.2.3:
1. Interpretation of data in research is defined as… to the task of drawing inferences
from the collected facts after an analytical study. It is a search for broader meaning
of research finding. Interpretation is the device through which the factors that
seem to explain what has been observed by researcher in the course of the study
can be understood.
2. The four levels of interpreting the data in qualitative data are…
Level 1: Data collected are compared and contrasted and any unexpected results may be
included. Comments on certain shortcomings of the study may be made but they should
not overly emphasize the flaws.
Level2: The credibility/trustworthiness of the result as well as their confirmability or
dependability, is explained. The causes or factors that may have influenced the results as
well as the underlying coherence or sense of meaning in the data are described.
Level 3: The transferability of the results, that is, their generality, or applicability of
external condition is explained. The researcher attempts to generalize the meaning to a
larger population, connect the discovery to the theories that drive the research
Level 4: The data are related/corroborated to theoretical research or with reviewed
literature.

LESSON 3

*WHAT’S NEW
Activity 7.3.1:
Write the story here:
1. The man bought a balloon from the old man
2. He get one balloon holding tightly in his hand
3. He inhales the air inside of the balloon to his
4. He keeps inhaling more as the balloon slowly dejected
5. As soon he inhales all the air of the balloon
6. He floats like a balloon and the old man was surprised
