a. What positive behaviors could you identify in the way you communicate? 

I am very good at listening and being respectful with my coworkers.

b. What behaviors of yours do you feel need improving?  

I feel that I can improve my ability to take time to evaluate performance of myself and my
coworkers, and also for being honest with the things that need to improve.

c. How do you think your way of communicating affects people and results?  

I think that good communication creates unity in a team, and makes everyone feel comfortable,
more motivated and therefore work better, so the results improve.
d. What factors do you think influence the way you communicate with others?

The level of trust that has been built among the parties, and the time that you have spent
knowing each other to become comfortable and understand the best way to communicate with
a specific person or party.

e. What conclusions can you make based on these observations that will allow you to
improve your communication as a leader, both in the work environment and in your
personal environment?  

That it is important to create a psychologically safe environment for everyone to express freely,
and to be empathetic so that everyone’s needs are taken into account.

Behavior chosen to improve: Bring a matter to a colleague’s attention in a clear, direct


respectful way.

1. Build trust with that person.


2. Use “I” phrases to communicate the problem and being specific, such as “I feel that
this specific part of the work can be improved by doing this specific kind of things”
3. Use the sandwich method: Say something good about their performance first, then say
the thing that needs to improve/change, and finish with another positive remark.
