E-mail Assignment

Write a properly formatted e-mail for the topic listed below. First, complete a rough
copy of your e-mail. Then, use time given in class to type up a good copy to hand in for
marking. When finished, hand in both for evaluation and marking.
LETTER TOPIC: Write a thank you e-mail to someone who has influenced your life in a
positive way. Review the role they have played in your life and explain
the effect their actions have had on it. Tell the individual about what
has happened since your experience with them and how you have been
changed or influenced by it.

o contains “TO” and “FROM” lines stating the recipient’s and sender’s names and e-mail
addresses
o contains a “SUBJECT” line identifying the e-mail’s purpose and content
o e-mail contains appropriate salutation and closing statement (including sender’s name)
o e-mail consists of FOUR (4) paragraphs, each being indented
o ο introductory paragraph says “hello” and introduces the e-mail’s topic
o ο second and third paragraphs explain and discuss the topic
o concluding paragraph says “goodbye” and brings the e-mail to an end
