MODULE IN EDUCATIONAL THRUST (EM 211)

Welcome to this course EM 211 with the Descriptive Title : EDUCATIONAL THRUST

In this course, you will be oriented on the different programs and projects involved in the five
key thrusts: school-based management; the development of teacher education; national learning
strategies; quality assurance and accountability; and changes to the administration of DepEd, using the
latest technology to ensure more effective use of resources, whether staff or funds.

This module is composed of the following parts: Objectives, Introduction, Topic Presentation,
Activity, and Evaluation.

This module entails blended learning activities hence, at the end of the course you are expected
to:

a. identify the different programs and projects involved in the five key thrusts ;
b. give its characteristics, salient features and implementation; and
c. state the benefits that learners, teachers, school administrators and other stakeholders will
get from the programs and projecst.

This module is a self-learning material and will need further reading and analysis. Since
Blended Learning is also encouraged, you may access some links to enhance your learnings. You will be
engaging in the different activities of this module. You may start with the pre-assessment and continue

____7. CHILD PROTECTION G. It describes a wide variety of instructional services


that are based on a child’s individual needs.
____8. Sulong Edukalidad H. It sets clear expectations of teachers along well-
defined career stages of professional development from
beginning to distinguished practice.

____9. Mother Tongue I. It refers to programs, services, procedures and


structures that are intended to prevent and respond to
abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination and
violence.

____10. LAC J. This measures 15-years-old students' reading,


mathematics, and science literacy for every three years.

You may now proceed to the lesson proper, after answering the 10-item test.

LESSON 1. PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS INVOLVING KEY THRUSTS IN EDUCATION.

Objectives:

At the end of this lesson, you should be able to:


1. Identify the different programs and projects in the Philippine educational system;
2. describe its characteristics and salient features of the program; and
3. state as to the benefits and to whom the program is beneficial.

being implemented in our educational system.
