Dear Sir/ Madam

I have just returned from a weekend break at The Royal Malvern Hotel, and I am writing to express
my dissatisfaction with the food and service provided in your restaurant.

Firstly, there was very little variety in the food and sometimes no choice at all. Secondly, the service
was very slow most of the time and we had to wait half an hour between courses. And finally, when
we complained to the head waiter about these delay, he was very rude and the service didn’t
improve.

I sincerely hope that immediate actions will be taken to improve this situation, and I shall expect a
letter of apology and explanation for this very poor standard of service in a hotel with such a fine
reputation.

Yours faithfully

C: He decided to tell his coach at his baseball club.
B: His friend, the cyberbully, promised nothing like that would ever happen again.
Activity 5.
Possible answer:
Samuel created an account on Questions.com. At first, he had fun and joke around
sending funny messages. However, he started to receive mean messages from an
anonymous person. Even though he told the bully to leave him alone, this thing still
kept going. He was too embarrassed to tell his parents and friends. Finally, it got to the
point where it became a nightmare. He decided to tell his baseball coach. The coach told
Samuel to screenshot the messages, save everything and delete his account. Eventually,
the cyberbully turned out to be one of his friends. His friend promised to never do that
again.

Activity 6. Possible answers

1. Any one of the following: It can be anonymous, difficult to trace, and incessant,
appearing 24/7.
2. You should keep copies of any threatening messages, pictures, or texts used to bully
you.
3. All friends joke around with each other, but sometimes it’s hard to tell if someone is just
having fun or trying to hurt you, especially online. Sometimes they’ll laugh it off with a
“just kidding,” or “don’t take it so seriously.” But if you feel hurt or think others are
laughing at you instead of with you, then the joke has gone too far. If it continues even
after you’ve asked the person to stop and you are still feeling upset about it, then this
could be bullying. Call it what you will – if you feel bad and it doesn’t stop, then it’s
worth getting help.
4. Facebook/Instagram:
First, by using technology to prevent people from experiencing and seeing bullying. For
example, people can turn on a setting that uses artificial intelligence technology to
automatically filter and hide bullying comments intended to harass or upset people.
Second, we’re working to encourage positive behavior and interactions by giving people
tools to customize their experience on Facebook and Instagram. Restrict is one tool
designed to empower you to discreetly protect your account while still keeping an eye
on a bully.
Twitter:
Since hundreds of millions of people share ideas on Twitter, it’s no surprise that we
don’t all agree. That’s one of the benefits because we can all learn from respectful
disagreements and discussions. But sometimes, after you’ve listened to someone for a
while, you may not want to hear them anymore. Their right to express themselves
doesn’t mean you’re required to listen.
