    PROJECT PROPOSAL

    Sangguniang Kabataan 2021

    A. Project Title: “ Solar Street Lights in every corner of the barangay”


    B. Project Location: Purok 1 to Purok 6
    On July, 2021-August 2021
    C. Proponent: Sangguniang Kabataan Council
    D. Target Beneficiaries: All residents of Barangay Lam-an
    E. Background:
    In the past years, our barangay has implemented several projects for
    advancement, order and safety for the residents living under its
    jurisdiction. Some of these projects and programs include: Expanding
    and renovating the basketball court. Providing free health service to
    the seniors and infants in the barangay hall and implementing rules on
    cleaning the barangay every month. Our barangay gives a little
    attention about the street lights that every corner of the barangay are
    dark and it is not safe for the residents to walk on the road at night.
    F. Project Goals/Objectives :
     To install solar street lightings in every corner of barangay.
     To promote safety of the residents.
     To make the street more attractive.
     To make the traffic and obstructions on the road clearly visible
    in order to promote safety and convenience.
     To increase the community value of the street.
     To identify savings that the Council would make which could
    then be utilized to improve infrastructure, in particular lighting
    columns, to a more sustainable basis.
    G. Solution
     The Sangguniang Kabataan Council and the Barangay Captain
    should implement this project proposal, the solution for this
    problem in the barangay, they must install a solar powered LED
    street light system, this is an affordable, efficient and it can save
    energy. The components of this solar powered LED are:
    o Solar Panel or Photovoltaic Module
    o Lighting Fixture – LED lamp set
    o Rechargeable Deep Cycle Battery (Usually Li-Ion
    battery)
    o Solar Charge Controller
    o Light Pole The Solar Panel will provide electricity to
    charge the battery during day time. The battery’s
    charging is controlled by a charge controller. The
    operation of the LED bulb is controlled by a control
    circuit either by using sensors such as Light Dependent
    Resistor (LDR) or voltage or current sensor.
     Using this Solar Powered LED street light system it has a long
    service life, simple installation, safety, great performance and
    energy conservation.
    H. Evaluation

    The barangay council should evaluate this project proposal as


    this is for the benefits of the residents in the barangay.
