At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
A. Give appropriate verbs to any person or animal the teachers tell them to describe
B. Differentiate the three types of verbs
C. Construct a sentence using verbs

III. PROCEDURE
A. REVIEW
Ask the class about the previous lessos.
What they learn in the previous lesson
Ask the students if they really understand the pst lesson?
B. MOTIVATION
I will represent a video that will show different types of verbs use to describe an action or
state of being(like a person or animals) and let the students watch and observe what the video
all about.
C. ACTIVITIES
The class will be divided into two groups and each group will compete each other.
I will show some pictures of activities and they will guest if it is a verb or not!The more
points they will earn will be the score of the whole groups.
D. ANALYSIS
What do you call those action words you encountered in the videoclips?

E. ABSTRACT
A verb, from a Latin verbum meaning word, is a word that is syntax conveys an action, an
occurrence, or state of being.In the usual description of English, the basic form, with or
without the particle to, is the infinitive. In many language, verbs are inflected to encode tense,
aspect, mood and voice.
Different Types of verbs:
I. Verbs of Being
Demonstrate a state of existence.
Examples: Present tense verbs of being (am, is, and are) indicate a current form.
Past tense verbs of being (was and were) indicate a previous state of
existence
Future tense verbs of being (will be) indicate a future state
II. Linking Verbs
Get their name from the way they link the subject of a sentence to its complement.A
omplement is a word or a group of words that describe the subject of a sentence.
Example: “The pizza tastes great”. It links the subject (pizza) with an adjective
(great) that describes it
III. Action Verbs
Any verb that demonstrate an action is an action verb. These are types of verbs you
tend to hear the most about. Physical actions, like running, and mental actions, like
thinking, both qualify as action verbs.
I. Transitive and Intransitive Verbs
IF the verb is followed by direct object, then the verb is transitive.A direct object is a
noun or pronoun that receives the action in the verb.
Verbs that lack direct objects are intransitive, .The action verb can be followed by an
adjective, adverb or prepositional pharse nd still be intransitive as long theres no
direct object.

F. APPLICATIONS
The class will be divided into four groups and arrange the cards which contain differents
types of verbs that showed in the video presentation while ago.. Let them sort and arrange
those words according to the type of verb it is, if it is Verbs of Being, Linking Verbs or
Action Verbs, and Transitive/Intransitive Verbs and after that use those words to construct
simple sentences.
The Group Leader will report the activity in the class after.

G. EVALUATION
Directions: Read the story and circle the action verbs using a red crayon or red colored pencil

Max, a small dog, jumped on to the picnic table. He smelled hamburger and corn.
Max barked at the two children. He rolled on the ground and begged for food.
Molly, a quiet cat, sat next to the cook. She purred softly for a hamburger. Molly
raced around the tree. She looked food scraps.
The family ate the food. After the barbecue, the children played in the park. They slid
down the slide. They flew high in the sky on the swings. Max and Molly ran alongside the
children. What a great day.
