activities. There is never enough time in a day. Everyone gets the same 24hours in a day, but some
people achieve more with the same time which other individuals get. Time management is one’s

on priorities, thereby eliminating the risk of neglecting critical tasks.
We have heard the saying “time is money”, and this phrase is essentially true. Time is continually
passing but that does not mean you are continually making money; this depends on how you
manage your time and what you do with it.
At the work place some apply time management and do so much in little time but some don’t even
find time to apply time management in the workplace. To have effective time management skills,
you need to see it as a process that uses time management tools as well as time management
techniques.
Managers have 4 kinds if resources: people, equipment, money and time. Of these the time is
irreplaceable, which means the time management skills are essential for success. Time
management teaches us to organize our time, so that we can become effective in our decisions and
become constructive in our workplace. Every organization pays its employees for their hard work
and efficiency. Individuals need to achieve the assigned targets within the desired time frame. It is
essential for employees to meet deadlines and deliver results on time. Employees need to get their
work done on time to expect timely appraisals and appreciation from managers and external
clients. Delaying work leads to no solution.

and to control some significant framework.
DATA COLLECTION
A major step in research design is for the determination of the data needed in them testing of
hypothesis. There are two types of data.
▪ Primary data

REVIEW OF THE
LITERATURE
REVIEW OF LITERATURE:
4. ABBAN, KENNETH (2012), has studied that time management is important to a well-
balanced life. How we use the amount of time makes all the differences to our lives. We can create
a happy family, grow businesses and realize personal goals in the time available to us if we change
our life style and attitudes. It is a systematic application of common-sense strategies. It requires
little effort, yet it promotes efficient work practices by highlighting wastage. It leads to effective
use of time by focusing in our chosen activities. Time management reveals problems and provides
a structure to implement and monitor solutions. It enables us to take control of our own time.
5. LUCY KARIMI NJAGI, JANE MALEL, (2012), has studied that managers in the
parastatals need to put in more efforts in educating the staff on the management by objectives.
There is a direct relationship between management by objectives principle and target setting. Good
and reasonable targets have a time frame. Time frame for any given task is only achieved if the
time and objectives are well communicated. The most common way of managing employee’s time
as shown in the study is by clocking in and out. But the same organizations are quick to identify
that what each of them does at each time after clocking in cannot be measured effectively. There
is a direct relationship between work performance and how one handles available time.

The final point about time management is the concept of balance. The most important thing that
you can instill in your life is balance and moderation. By practicing the methods, ideas, and
techniques, you will become a master time manager, and have more time for your family and
your personal life. Often, people take time management programs so that they can increase the
number of things that they can do on a day-to-day basis. However, as the wise man said, “There
is more to life than simply increasing its speed.”. The main purpose of learning and practicing
time management skills is to enhance and improve the overall quality of your life. It is to
increase the amount of pleasure and happiness you experience.
