SNOWMAN

CROCHET PATTERN

Thank you for purchasing my crochet pattern. I hope you enjoy crocheting this cute
snowman. Making it I have used white and blue but of course you can use any colors
you like. Happy crocheting!

Materials and Tools
- 4 ply yarn Alize Cotton Gold 330m/100g (3.53 Oz / 361 yds) mixture of cotton and
acrylic yarn №55 white, №287 blue.
- Sport 5 ply yarn Jeans mixture of cotton and acrylic yarn №77 orange.
- Crochet hook size 1.75 mm
- Fiberfill for stuffing
- 2 black beads as eyes 2-3 mm in diameter
- Black nylon sewing thread
- Sewing needle, pins

Size: The snowman is approximately 13 cm/5.12 inches height including the pom-pom.

Abbreviations:
R – round or row
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (make two single crochet in one stitch)
dec – invisible decrease (Insert the hook in the front loop of your first stitch. Now
immediately insert your hook in the front loop of the second stitch. You now have three
loops on your hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook and draw it through the first two loops
on your hook. Wrap the yarn over again and draw it through the two loops remaining on
your hook.)
dc – double crochet
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
BLO – back loops only
tr – triple or treble crochet
3-dc-bobble-stitch – (1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, draw
the yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw the yarn through 2 loops on the hook. Two
loops remain on the hook. 2. Repeat the preceding step twice. You should end up with 4
loops on the hook. 3. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.)
reverse sc (reverse single crochet) – Work single crochet in opposite direction from
which you would usually work (left to right if you are right-handed and right to left if you
are left-handed). This stitch is also known as crab stitch.
(sc, inc) x n - repeat those in brackets n times
(~) – number of stitches done in this particular round

Notes:
- Unless indicated otherwise in the pattern parts are worked in rounds with no chain
one stitch at the beginning of the round. It is important to mark the beginning of your
round with a stitch marker.
- All stitches are worked into both loops, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using your yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the
front loop of each remaining stitch and pull it tight. Weave in the yarn end.

FEET (make two in white yarn)

The feet don’t need stuffing. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using your yarn needle,
weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pull it tight.
Weave in the yarn ends.

MITTENS (make two in blue yarn)


R 1: Magic ring and 6 sc into it (6)
R 2: (sc, inc) х 3 (9)
R 3 - 4: 9 sc
R 5: 4 sc, 3-dc-bobble-stitch, 4 sc (9)
R 6: 9 sc (9)
R 7: 9 reverse sc (9)
Stuff the mitten lightly. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

ARM (make two in white yarn)


R 1: Magic ring and 6 sc into it (6)
R 2 – 5: 6 sc (6)
The arm doesn’t need stuffing. Flatten the arm and close the opening with 3 sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Put the other end of the arm into the mitten as shown in the picture and sew it to the
mitten using the leftover tail of blue yarn and your yarn needle. Weave in the yarn ends.
Repeat the same with the second arm and mitten.

HAT (make one in blue yarn)

POM-POM FOR THE HAT (make one in blue yarn)
Stuff as you go.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Using your yarn needle, weave the yarn tail

NOSE (make one in orange yarn)


R 1: Magic ring and 5 sc into it (5)
R 2 – 5: 5 sc (5)
Sl st in next stitch and fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. The nose doesn’t need
stuffing.

SCARF (make one in blue yarn)


Crochet in rows.
Chain 4
R 1: start in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc, ch, turn (3)
R 2 - 50: BLO 3 sc, ch, turn (3)
Fasten off. Weave in the yarn ends.

ASSEMBLY

1. Thread the white yarn into the needle and sew the feet to the bottom of the body.
Sew that part of the feet which is adjacent to the body. Sew the central part of the feet
only.

2. Sew the arms to round 22 - 23 of the body so that the thumbs point forward.

3. Sew the nose over rounds 29 and 30 to the head.

4. Sew the beads as eyes above the nose.

5. Embroider the mouth under the nose using black sewing thread.

6. Sew the pom-pom to the top of the hat.

7. Put the hat on the snowman. Sew the hat to the head. Put the scarf on the snowman.

8. Add blush to the snowman’s cheeks. Use actual blush powder or oil pastels.
