Components of a Grant Proposal

When developing a grant proposal, key components have to be included for the funding

agency to find it professional and focused. Typical grant proposals, in that regard, encompasses

the cover page, which holds the title of the project, its summary, cost, funds requested from the

designated sponsor, and other vital contact details. The proposal is further constituted of an

abstract, the table of contents, goals, objectives of the project, literature review, and the project

description. It must also contain a plan of action, methodology and strategy, a financial plan,

personnel, current and pending support, assessment, propagation, and supplemental resources.

All of the listed components contribute in one way or another in addressing the key issues

relevant to grant application (USI Web Services, n.d.). When one part or two is missed, the

proposal's authenticity could be jeopardized due to the lack of sufficient information to present

credentials.

How Grants Contribute To Program Planning and Program Evaluation

The budgeting process is vital for both the process evaluation and planning most

imperatively in the implementation stage. Project planning necessitates resources such as

coordinating from staff and volunteer time clerical works, administration, and logistics.

Additionally, to successfully conduct meetings, auditoriums and conference rooms are needed.

All that to happen together with other operations, surveys, supplies, communication, printing,

and many other services are needed, all of which require funding. Program evaluation, similarly,

demands almost equally as much. In project evaluation, an assessment is done to ascertain

whether the program's implementation process is being conducted as planned and operates per

the underlying expectations. In essence, project evaluation is crucial in determining the degree to

which the program adheres to the plan. Through project evaluation, successes and challenges are

quickly detected and addressed appropriately. For all these to be a success, there has to

[sufficient funding of the processes and resources needed. Grant funding, in this case, saves

where funds are limited.
