STUDENT TEACHING PROGRAM

If you will come to think of it, being a student isn’t an essay role, what more is to be a

teacher? But what makes more challenging is when these two words – student and teacher –

smashed together, ending up with “student- teacher.” (MRV, 2015)

As one of the Centers of Excellence for Teacher education in the country, CLSU-College

of Education regards student teaching as the indispensable part of the curriculum for the pre-

service teachers. It is the program where the student teacher can perform the knowledge they

have gained in the college courses such as contents, theories, and principles in which all these

things will be seen in the real life classroom setting.(FAL, 2016)

To be a student teacher or to have practice teaching is an integral and important part of all

teacher training programs. It is a practical and hands-on type of work that will really prepare and

train would be teacher in the real battle field of teaching that is why it is highly valued compared

the other courses during the training of future teachers like me.

The student teaching experience is frequently cited having the highest impact on future

teaching behaviors of candidate teachers. And for me, my student teaching experience was the

most meaningful portion of my professional preparation as an educator.

By glancing in this narrative report, you will have a glimpse of what took place during

my student teaching period- the learning and experiences which are bitter yet fruitful; the

hardships and struggles I’ve gone through as I strive to reach my goal of becoming a full pledge

teacher; the memories that will forever remain carved in my heart; and the fulfilment and the

joys of my teaching experience.

I’d be happy to share with you all these experiences in my journey and may you also be

inspired to follow the steps of our great teacher- Jesus Christ.

THE COOPERATING SCHOOL

In accordance with republic Act 1604, known as the Barrio High School Charter, a living

legacy of Dr. Pedro T. Orata, a resolution was formalized by the Municipal Council headed by

the late Mayor Gaudencio Paraiso, and in the 1966 the birth of Rizal Barrio High School. It was

started with one hundred four (104) students, seven (7) part time teachers from the Central

School, and (1) fulltime secondary teacher.

The Public work building situated at the hillside part of the western portion of the town

was utilized as classroom for two sections. One for the first year and another for the second year.

In 1967, the enrolments increased and were forced to house the students nearby chapels

and some rooms in the Elementary School. That same year, the school gained recognitions due to

its active participation in the Provincial Meet. It was fruitful years for the school which offered

complete secondary course and its first Commencement Exercises in 1969, with a total of thirty

four (34) graduates.

The challenged of administration brought significant development. In 1969, Mayor Jose

Tan Jr. lent a lot and constructed two (2 Marcos Types buildings). In response to this

magnanimous gestures, the PTA President, Mr. Petronilo Agaran with the cooperation of the

high school and elementary teachers sponsored a Foundation Day Festival which gave way to

raised funds for the construction of an H.E building unfortunately all destroyed by the typhoon

Kading.
The school continued to flourish up to the time of Mayor Benjamin V. Aleta. The initial

project of the mayor was the renovation of the building formerly occupied by the National

Irrigation Administration (NIA) which was also blown by typhoon Kading. A new building

emerged with four (4) classroom and faculty room. The school authority decided to move to the

new site. Soon three (3) buildings stood in the next era.

After twenty three (23) years of struggle, the Barrio High School continued to survive

despite difficulties like inadequate funds, rooms, delayed salaries and excessive teaching loads.

The nationalized of the school paves its way to changes which uplift academic instruction

and boosted teachers morale and welfare. Rizal National High School is optimistic that the years

ahead will meet its desired standard, and have a brighter future.

THE COOPERATING TEACHER

The Cooperating Teacher is viewed as the guide of the student teacher to accomplish the

teaching program. Every Student Teacher has their own assigned Cooperating Teachers they are

clearly the person most in touch with the student teacher's concerns, needs, and professional

growth throughout the placement in order to help them to achieve their learning through teaching

methods or teaching style.

To facilitate this experience, the cooperating teacher is expected to serve as the mentor of

the student teacher by familiarizing him/her with the school building, available instructional

resources, assisting in lesson and creating appropriate learning activities, establish effective

interactions with students, demonstrate effective teaching techniques and guiding the student

teacher in preparing daily lesson and tests.

I was very glad to have my very supportive and good cooperating teacher. He is Mr.

Gerardo A. Balosbalos Jr. the Coordinator of MAPEH department of RNHS. He was born on

October 2, 1988, a 28 year’s old respected teacher from Brgy. Poblacion Este, Rizal, Nueva

Ecija. He graduated from Wesleyan University-Philippines with the degree of Bachelor of

Secondary Education in Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) in the year

2005-2009 and then he took his Master’s in Education in PHINMA-Aurollo University in the

year 2010-2013. And from 2010 up to present time he still engaged to teach in Rizal National

High School

His skills in teaching inside and outside of the classroom, as a Student Teacher I

served it as my goal and dream to improve more my teaching skills to become also a good role

model to my students.
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCES
WORKING WITH THE COOPERATING TEACHER

The cooperating teachers are the persons who will become your guardian during the internship

program, these are the persons who advices and guides on the classroom management and

learning process of the student teacher inside and outside the school. They serve as model to

the student teacher to develop an individual teaching style and personal talents during the

student teaching program.

Before I started handling my classes, my cooperating teacher oriented me on how to

deal with my students and to make lesson plans as well. They taught me of the new trends on

making lesson plans and of the current trends on making lesson plans and of the current trends

about the same matter. They also said that I must always update my lesson plan every day and

to limit my topic every day for the reason that I needed to make sure that all my student will

understand my lesson well.

My cooperating teacher were very approachable. As a matter of fact, whenever I asked

questions about things in our lesson, activities, routine and past teaching experiences, he can

answer it instantly. He willing to share their meaningful experiences in teaching as well as

advising on how to handle and manage things during our stay in the school. There were also

also times that we have quality time that we share our thought and experiences during that

day.

What I admired to my cooperating teacher is his activeness in the campus because as a

MAPEH Teacher you are expected to organized different cultural activities and it’s a pleasure
that my cooperating teacher is top on list about that thing. Another one is for being so talented

in singing where he is the one who conduct and lead every flag raising ceremony and i want to

become like him, to become very active and well participated in every activities that the school

must conduct.

Mr. Balosbalos was very supportive. Before my demonstration teaching, he checked all

the things that I will be using. From my lesson plan, visual materials and the way I conduct it. He

also suggested that we must have a warm up for me to be able to be well prepared for my

demonstration teaching. And when that day comes I know I’m not the only one who feel

nervousness but even he is. And after the demonstration, when I tell him that I nailed my

demonstration teaching I don’t know but the thing is I think he is much happier than me.

Teaching is not an easy job that is one thing I realized during the student teaching. In

this noble profession you should have the burn on fire commitment and dedication is highly

needed to be effective one. This profession is not just to teach but also to enlighten the mind of

everyone that education is the key to success. During my entire student teaching I realized that

teaching is really hard. And now, I do believed that “Teachers are made, they are not born”.
WORKING WITH THE STUDENTS

The teaching and learning process will not be successful without the students who will

be the clients of the process. The students are considered as the center of the teaching and

learning process. Being an educator, it was my mission to go out and have a difference in one’s

life whether one or thousands.

In the classroom set up the heart of the teaching learning process is the students and

each of them has their own individual differences. As a teacher you should learn to cope with

those differences and respect the diversity. Once you understand and know each of your

students, you can think strategies of teaching that will be fitted to all of them so that they will

learn fast.

During the first day in our cooperating school, we were already assigned to the sections

that we will handled. I was given different kinds of students. I think it was a challenge and also a

good training for me, because I will be handling different knids of students so that I could teach

a variety of strategies that could suit to their abilities.

GRADE 8- GABASAN

This section is the ideal section that I’ve encounter during the student teaching

program. I was really amazed how this group of students managed to answer given activities

accurately in a very short span of time. Every time I gave them an activity they gave me a

response beyond my expectation that’s why I know that these student will have a brighter

future. I admire their eagerness to learn because of that during my demonstration they are on

the top of my list.

GRADE 8- RAMOS

This section is also known as Hetero section meaning they are mixed of active and smart

student. I could say that they are a bunch of smart, good-looking, courteous and most behave

students. This section is composed of student with the different personality and attitude but
even thou they treat themselves as a family and that thing I loved about this section. I think this

section gave me an incredible student teaching experience because every time I enter in their

classroom I feel so belong to them, whenever I teach in this class, I feel at ease. They never give

me a reason to be mad. They could easily understand the lesson and able to answer activities

without difficulty. They are also the most diligent group. I become their Friend, Teacher, “Kuya”

and “Papa” because that’s the way they called me in and out of the campus. And even the

student teaching program is done they never forgot to pop some messages for me and I think I

think it’s sweet. I love this guy’s so I’m sure I goanna miss them a lot.

GRADE 8- SALVADOR

Thou they are the last section in Grade 8 I consider them as the most challenging group

I’ve handled. Some students in this class is not easy to catch attention during discussion as a

solution you need to think and create visual materials and activities that makes them enjoy.

Even thou some of them are very active some of them can handle some of their own classmates

and in times of activity I admired their cooperation even thou is not that clean at all but what I

want to this section even they called the last, you can see the presence of being a fighter
GRADE 9-ABAD

From three grade 8 students to one grade nine class, In this case I learned that being

flexible is a must for being a teacher. Imagine how I manage my day and lessons for this group

because as I enter their room I need to prepare the lesson for them and think some new

strategies. After all I enjoy this class very well because there’s a lots of talented students here

and I admired them all.

WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY

“Harmonious relationship with people is built by entrusting each other”. This quotation

seems to fit the insights I gained in having a quality time and harmonious friendship with the

people around the school and also to the community.

School is a small caricature of community, so it is necessary to a teacher to deal not only

with the students and faculty but also with the whole community. Building good relationships

with parents and other school personnel can help- the teaching-learning process of a teacher

and students. With these, teacher can easily communicate with the parents and other

personnel to support the needs of the student for their education. So that students will be

encourage to study hard.

And as I said that as a teacher is a must that you have communication to the parents of

your student. I remember when my cooperating teacher said that they are going to conduct

home visit for some of the students that got problems in the school and I realized that this is an

opportunity for me to approach and observe how to deal effectively to some parents and when

in process I understood how it is important to be done because some of the student have a

different attitude in school and home and sometimes some problems at home endure by the

student at school. In the end it gave me a wide range of understanding that as a teacher you

have an important role to your community.

Well, I was thankful that even I was just a practice teacher they respected me as how I

respected them too. Even, there was a time that when one parent as me if I were the practice

teacher of his daughter and I said “Yes po” and she replied “akala ko kabarkada mo lang yung

anak ko, sorry sir’’ then we laugh and start some conversation about her daughter.
WORKING WITH OTHER SCHOOL PERSONNEL

Getting along with other is not always as easy as one, two, and three. It requires careful

and discreet manner to adjust with their individualities.

The people who constitute an organization have multifarious personalities, different

backgrounds, needs, values, and perceptions. That is why flexibility of attitudes is important in

order to maintain professional relationship with each other. (FAM, 2005)

During my internship I was glad that all faculty and other school treated us as true

teachers. Every morning as I entered the school grounds, I was greeted by these school

personnel with warm smile and welcome. I felt that even though we were not official teacher or

member of the faculty in RNHS still they treated us like a real teacher.

One thing that that makes a way to become friends with other school personnel is by

working with some of their request, for example when Mrs. Ramos request me to teach her

student an Ethnic dance for the foundation week of the school and as a MAPEH practice

teacher and as I also handled her class I acquired her request and after all, Me and Mrs. Ramos

become good acquaintance.

I remember one time when I was in canteen with my co-practice teacher as we enter the door

they start to greet us with a warm smile and after we get our order we need to find a place to

take our foods but the problem is there is no vacant seat for us and as they treat us a real
teacher they find and get some table and chair for us. And for me it was so heart touching

experience.

Another thing that I won’t forget at RNHS is when we are all invited for a faculty

meeting we felt that they welcomed us very well as they say that if we need some help or we

face some problems at the campus they are all here for us to give hand and advices and I find it

so very sweet as they treat us as their Family.

All in my experience with the school personnel was great they don’t bother us they treat

us like we are part of the RNHS Faculty and staff.

WORKING WITH CO-PRACTICE TEACHER

Undergoing the student teaching program is very hard task for the student teacher but

sometimes this is being overcome with the help of the partners of a certain student teacher.

These partners or much better to say my siblings that I’m referring to are my co-student

teacher.

At Rizal National High School, we are composed of sixteen Student teacher deployed

with different specialization and two of them ( Henry Inigo and Joshua Dela Cruz) is my co-

MAPEH practice teacher as we already know each other because since 2nd year we are already

become classmates. And some of them are familiar to me because sometimes we already

encounter at in college. Even though we have individual differences in specialization, culture,

and background we worked as one and able to build friendship for the enhancement of the

school.

And as we positioned with the class we handled also we sited to different department

that will become our office for the entire program and half of us assigned to the TLE

department as it is the most spacious place where we are able to make an office and as the

days goes by we become getting more with each other as we shared some stories and

experiences regarding to the things we encounter. And sometimes if we need some help

regarding to the effective activities to conduct regarding to our topic they also suggest and give
advices to do our classroom more enjoyable. And that department become alive and

unforgettable place for us.

And if we have a free day we meet up and do some works related to the teaching

program as we also build a new happy family and we named it team ASOsasyon, as we compare

ourselves to a dog that even at night you need to be alert to do some things like lesson plan and

visual aids that you need to prepare for your class tomorrow.

We team RNHS/ASOsasyon practice teacher were destined to work each other and as

we believed that united we stand divided we fall. We can commit ourselves by putting our mind

and our heart to the lifelong mission of the teaching profession.

CLASSROOM TEACHING

Classroom is our battlefield. Our mission is to deliver the lesson to the students

effectively and to ensure that when the students move outside, the lessons were already

integrated. It is the task of the teacher to create effective teaching strategies and to choose

appropriate evaluation methods. Moreover, it has been done to surely satisfy the objectives of

the lesson.

Through classroom teaching experience I expect to maximize my potential on being a

teacher by this internship. I assume that, I would be able to develop my skills and improve my

strategies in teaching. I hope I will be able to manage my assigned class and that I can utilize

different teaching strategies. While doing this practice teaching I hope I can evaluate what

traits should the teacher must possess and utilize it in my future teaching career. I believe that

the practice teaching experience will increase my understanding of the students nowadays and

will help me in dealing with challenging situations in the future.

a. TECHNIQUE, METHOD, AND STRATEGIES USED;

I used different methods, techniques and strategies to facilitate surely the learning of

the students. Teaching is to not only teach and talk in front. Teaching carries much

responsibility than talking. Experience is the best teacher, indeed it is not talking. Teaching is

nonsense if the students learn nothing or the students learn understanding, synthesis and
analysis, wrongly. To better inculcate the lessons in the mind of the students, they should

experience or they should go with the authentic examples or real-life situations. Some are not

effective in imagination, the teaching with purely theoretical and conceptual only gains boring

environment. Therefore, I have always brought authentic examples and tangible objects to

show the application of the concepts.

There is no ultimate strategy, because if there is and you will use that single ultimate

strategy all throughout the year, classroom atmosphere will become boring and monotonous.

Therefore, I created a dynamic environment. If they have seen me jumping while discussing, the

other day, they will see me singing while discussing. In short, teaching should be coordinated

with art and styles. It should be painted with different colors and images, properly. I provided

pictures and images to deliver the lessons.

We all know that every individual has its own personality and talents; it can be

perceived on Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. Not all the students are good in writing essays

and elaborating ideas. However, in other aspects, they make their world, i.e. they can elaborate

or present their ideas through illustrations. We should make other subjects coordinated with

other subjects.

Moreover, we should let our minds open and creative to make effective and engaging

strategies. If we did it, indeed, the learning of the students and goals of the lessons are

ultimately achieved.

b. Instructional Materials Used

Instructional materials are very necessary in fulfilling a very meaningful day of teaching.

It is your way to deliver the lessons effectively. Different instructional materials will definitely

give favorable outcomes. I always have visual aids in teaching my students. I have made it

readable at the back, presentable and brief. I did not make visual aids that are wordy and very

long because it took many minutes to copy and the students will be bored. I made visual aids

that are already summarized, and then on my discussion, each word, concepts and details will

be explained fully. To facilitate effectively the learning, I also have tangible objects to apply the

concepts and ideas. I also made them do what I have done in discussion because if they will

experience the methods, the easy is the learning and the integration. I also used images, mock-

up, and models to visualize what it looked like. From that demonstration and model, the topic is

fully understood and delivered.

Moreover, the teacher should use different materials to assist the students’ learning

especially the use of audio-visual materials. Technology is emerging, and it is a chance for the

students to enjoy the learning using the technology of the generation. Indeed, with various

instructional materials make the classroom atmosphere more engaging and meaningful.

C. LESSON PLAN
A lesson plan is a lesson “project” written down on paper. It is only a “project” because

a lot of unpredictable events occur in the classroom. It is also a dreaded part of instruction that

most teachers detest. It nevertheless provides a guide for managing the learning environment.

As one of the teacher’s roles is that of designer and implementer of instruction, the preparation

of lesson plan will ensure the organization of the lesson according to some criteria. Regardless

of the format, all teachers need to make wise decisions about the strategies and methods they
will employ to help students move systematically toward learner goals. The more organized a

teacher is, the more effective the teaching, and thus the learning, is. Writing daily lesson plans

is a large part of being organized. Teacher’s life will be disorganized if not properly planned.

Lesson plan is a necessity for every teacher. It serves as a tool for effective teaching. Although

lesson planning is the most tedious part, it makes teaching easy. It guides the teacher to keep

his/her students interested in his/her lesson. Lesson planning helps teachers to keep track of

his/her lessons if he/she is going the right path. Through lesson planning, teachers have to

define their expectations and have these expectations be met.

d. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

The teacher needs to maintain the good atmosphere with the students’ interest and

understanding observable. First in line in the classroom management, is employing discipline

among the class. When discipline has already employed, orderliness and organization follows.

As included in my lesson plan, I started my lesson in a routinely activities such as arranging

chairs and picking pieces of paper. Maintaining a clean and organize classroom set-up and good

classroom management give better environment conducive for learning.

INSIGHT GAINED

Prior to actual teaching, we were already trained and taught different theories in

dealing with our Student Teaching Mentors, personnel, staff, students and community. Those

enduring times were worth enough to equip me to the training ground of internship.

Student teaching taught me a lot of things which can be very beneficial in my chosen

career. What I learned is teaching is no difficult from any ordinary job. You need to have a

strong stress tolerance. The value of hard work, of honesty, the value of sincerity make

teacher’s job a success in nurturing students and honing their young minds and successful

teacher have found teaching a very enjoyable job. Indeed, it was. There can be no better task

than to taught young people and see them grow, see them bloom and flower into manhood.

Teaching was not an easy job, but it could be make easy too.

I also learned that one of the difficult task of being a teacher is to become a dynamic

person which is you also need to become facilitator at same time which is you need to transfer

prior knowledge to your student effectively. It was because doing such things; you have to be

very well educated and equipped enough to face your students. Students nowadays are very

intelligent of, so how would they believe a teacher who teaches them lighter lessons which

probably they knew already. The students are studying not just to review the things they knew

but also they want to learn something and even more.

What I learned best and tried to put into my heart was time management and

punctuality. One of the good qualities of a professional was he/she knew how to budget time

and always arrive on time. It was a deep conviction that changed and still changing me to

possess the said traits.

Lastly, I realize everyone has its own role to play its not on how great he performs but

on how he tried to perform. My students taught me a lot to live not only for myself but also

with others.
ACTION RESEARCH
I.INTRODUCTION

“Effective lecturers combine the talents of scholar, writer, producer, comedian, showman, and

teacher in ways that contribute to student learning.” -Wilbert J. McKeachie,

An effective teacher is an excellent communicator and therefore thinks about improving

his or her presentation skills. One of the most important aspects of communicating is shaping

both content and style to fit your audience. In the classroom, if you cannot communicate in a

way that is both comprehensible and interesting to your students, their learning will be greatly

reduced.

The use of audio visual materials as teaching aids has increased in recent years; thanks to

technological advancement. Today's technology offers many choices to teachers, lecturers and

curriculum developers who wish to capitalize on the new generation’s appetite for multimedia

presentations. According to studies and research, some teachers claim that whenever they teach

with some learning aids, their students get more stimulated because the learning aids help

students to become more attentive. In addition, student's positive attitude generates more interest

for the lessons they teach, and as a result students participate better in the class.

The importance of audio visual (AV) technology in education should not be

underestimated. There are two reasons for this; one, learning via AV creates a stimulating and

interactive environment which is more conducive to learning; two, we live in an audio-visual age

which means that having the skills to use AV equipment is integral to future employment

prospects. Therefore exposure to AV technology in education is imperative.

Now it is the computer that shows these educational films and homework is also being done

increasingly on PCs.
Children learn differently and audio visual equipment gives teachers the chance to

stimulate each child’s learning process with a combination of pictures, sounds and attention

grabbing media. We are surrounded by audio visual equipment and children are keen to

understand technology and keep up to date with applied science. Having this opportunity in the

classroom helps to facilitate learning.

More and more schools are taking advantage of AV technology to teach their students.

This equipment can be used to present information to students but also the fact that they are

interacting with AV technology on a daily basis also makes them proficient in using technology.

Not exposing children to different forms of technology is depriving them of vital learning

opportunities that could benefit them in later life for example through increased career

opportunities. AV lessons should not just consist of children working in pairs on a PowerPoint

presentation or rewriting a piece of work using Word, ICT should be challenging, exciting and

fun.

Objectives of the Study

This action research focuses on engaging the student towards the MAPEH subject by

using Audio-Visual Materials and educational technology

Specifically it aimed to:

• engage the grade 8 student to focus and listen to the discussion of the topic, and

• identify the solution to catch the interest of the Grade -students towards the MAPEH

subject
II. Situation

In Rizal National High School the teacher noticed that the Grade-8 students are lacking

motivation and interest during classroom instruction. Maybe they find it hard to understand the

subject or they have no interest in it or found out to be boring. So, the teachers in secondary

level gave an aid to those students to help them out and be motivated and have an interest

towards the MAPEH subject.

III. Problem

The observation of the teacher inside the classroom, some of the students did not

participate in the classroom instruction. Their interests were hard to capture during class

discussions and it would end up having a low score in quizzes.

During class discussion some of the students were not paying attention, some were bored,

playing their pens, chatting with their seatmates and some has no reaction at all. With this kind

of problem the students found it hard to catch up with the lessons.

IV. Scope and Limitation

The action research entitled “Engaging the student towards the MAPEH subject by using

Audio-Visual Materials and educational technology of Grade-8 students” were studied at Rizal

National High School as the coverage of the action research.

V. Possible Causes

The following situations possibly caused lacking of focus and interest towards the

MAPEH subject.

• Students are not interested towards the subject.

• The medium of instruction used is English

• The students are bored and lost in focus

• The subject MAPEH needs some audio-visual materials to display or played but some of

the teachers didn’t provide it.

• The MAPEH subject is too wordy

• They find it hard to memorize

• The teacher was boring

VI. Possible Solutions

The following possible solutions to the students to have catch the focus and interest

towards the subject MAPEH are;

• Presenting an interesting video presentation

• Making some popular animation in power point related to the topic

• Presenting some creative visual materials

• Presenting some pictures that are attractive to the students that are related to the topic
• Having a new exciting activities for the topic

• Having an outdoor activities

• Giving some reward from doing a better result

• Giving some extra points when having a great accomplishment in class

• Build active atmosphere via various interesting classroom activities

• By giving some jokes

• Explaining the topic using Filipino language

• Giving complement to those students who give efforts to their work

Conclusion

In conclusion, people learn in different ways. Some people are good in retaining

information passed to them orally, while some others are extraordinarily good in retaining

information through what they read and others through pictures and some other means. But

generally, findings and statistics have shown that the best means of facilitating or enhancing

good teaching and learning is through the use of instructional materials which encompass audio

visual materials like radio, charts and projectors of various kinds.

The AV technology used in education currently is mainly the interactive whiteboard.

More than two million interactive whiteboards are now installed worldwide, and this product

continues to show strong growth. It is predicted that one out of every five classrooms worldwide

will have an interactive whiteboard by the end of 2013.

Children are exposed from a young age to a range of other AV technologies, which previous

generations were not. This includes the television, DVDs, iPods, Nintendo Wiis, computer

games and the Internet. Statistics which show the link between children and AV technology

include:

• Mobile market trends report that between 2010 and 2012, over 7 million mobile

subscribers are aged between 0 and 10

• A further 2 million are aged 11 to 14 years old (BECTA, 2008).

• A report by Mintel in 2011 found that “half of all children aged 7 to 12 visit social

networking websites’

• An estimated 0.97 million children, go on Facebook everyday.” (Mintel, 2011)

Therefore it is clear that children of primary school age have the interest and capacity to learn

and navigate AV technologies.

AV technology has been used in schools for decades, but only in the form of a TV and video

player to show short educational films. Now it is the computer that shows these educational films

and homework is also being done increasingly on PCs.

Children learn differently and audio visual equipment gives teachers the chance to stimulate each

child’s learning process with a combination of pictures, sounds and attention grabbing media.

We are surrounded by audio visual equipment and children are keen to understand technology

and keep up to date with applied science. Having this opportunity in the classroom helps to

facilitate learning.
