Have you ever wondered why your other co-workers who you think are as good as you are
often favored? This is because of what they call soft skills. Soft skills are not always about
having a charming smile, a pleasant aura, and being friendly. It is also not about mentioning
admiration for a superior or boss even if it is contrary to the truth or praising a co-worker
even though it is also untrue.

Soft skills refer to the EQ or Emotional-intelligence Quotient. Such ability is associated with


the unique personality that determines the positive interaction of the individual with other
people. Combining EQ with the following aspects:

 Intelligence
 Great sociality and ethics
 Good communication, language, and tone
 Enthusiastic participation or group interaction
 Possesses the character of a leader
 Negotiation ability
 There is an appreciation for the service provided
 Has constructive or improving behavior
 With motivation and a strong desire to learn
 Has exceptional ability to socialize with everyone and cooperate with other people

All of the above are important factors to support the professional ability that will bring
success to the profession and life. Not everyone naturally possesses soft skills, there are
others who experience obstacles to career development due to lack of it. The way an
individual handles relationships determines its ability to socialize, inspire, develop, and
influence other people. Recruiters abroad believe that defining talent is not just strictly
based on technical qualifications because soft skills are a reflection of an applicant's full
personality. Applicants who test without good soft skills or ability to socialize with others
have an obstacle to growth.

Internal Soft Skills


It refers to how you see and behave. It is also about controlling ego, temperament, and
emotions in responding to different situations.

 Watch the flow of emotions towards an unbearable and ripe mentality. Understand


and evaluate your own feelings and specific reactions so that you can identify and correct
mistakes.
 Learn to read signs and small changes in behavior. Make sure you do not
misunderstand the rooted factors during the confrontation.
 Examine your own ideas and feelings, those that cause irritation, feelings of
embarrassment, and discouragement. Keep in mind those who motivate or motivate you. You
can do this with the understanding that there are other sides to the situation. It depends on
you how you look at them.
 Again, focus on what inspires and inspires you. Free yourself from the burdensome
thoughts and emotional baggage you carry and look at each situation as an opportunity to
learn and grow.
 Eliminate the thought that you are superior to others because you look at the faults
of others, but focus on your ability and be humble while holding on to confidence.
 Deal with stress and understand that there are situations that are not
pleasant. Accept it and be calm despite the trigger.
 Remember that unpleasant situations also pass so do not give up and learn to
accept failure. Bad situations will pass. Continue to fight despite frustration and frustration and
get up immediately after falling. You can not just bend over and turn around so do not give in
to temporary unpleasant situations and move on towards your long-term goals.

External Soft Skills


External soft skills are the ability to deal with meaningful relationships. Understanding the
way others think about you and your work will help you weigh the impact their actions will
have on you:
 Pay close attention to the way you treat your boss and other superiors. Do the job of
helping your superiors based on what they expect from you. Practice dealing with individuals
by reading their minds before making a suggestion.
 Pay attention to your verbal and non-verbal means of communication by listening to
others and expressing ideas correctly. Improve your presentation at gatherings and make it
interesting by using good points and not boring read-outs.
 Focus on working together with people with different abilities, personalities, and
ways of working to achieve results. Don't just focus on personal success.
 Understand the feelings of others and build friendships and trust.
 Ask for feedback or opinions from others until a final agreement is reached. Be
logical to build credibility and encourage listening to your idea without being forced especially
if the ideal solution is spoken by others.
 Pay attention to improving your group with different abilities and ways of working
through persuasion. Improve your leadership skills by giving visions, and ideas that will get
their attention and desire to move toward a single sworn goal. Learn to share sensitive
knowledge and guidance to help develop their profession.
 Pay attention to difficult situations calmly. Study the potential problem and formulate
a plan in case it happens.
 If you have a strong opinion or idea, at the time of the meeting, do not just insist on it
but encourage them to accept you.
 Focus on the value of building a connection that will help expand the information and
be available to be prepared for situations.

The conclusion is clear in all of the above, training is important and secondly, it should be
emphasized that the key to developing soft skills is positive behavior, because in the long
run, they will help to advance in the race.
