Korean Dramas more popularly k-dramas are television series in the Korean
language, made in South Korea. Korean dramas are popular worldwide, partially
due to the spread of the Korean popular culture (The Korean Wave) and their
widespread availability via streaming services which often offer subtitles in a
multiple language. Over the years the Korean wave has swept throughout the
Philippine media industry. Everyday we can see a lot of Korean dramas aired on
television even in social media, its rapid spread made it even more popular.
Korean dramas where subject can be contemporary comedy, Romance, Actions,
Science Fiction, Medical and impact Historical.
The popularity of Korean Dramas in the country brought with it a new form of
trends that made an and influence a lot of Filipino people especially the
teenagers of the present generation. As a result, many among the Filipino
teenagers nowadays trends to sacrifice their time for sleep, foods,
communication, family bonding, and school stuff just to watch Korean Dramas.
This study was conducted in order to find out the impacts of Korean dramas
among the Filipino teenagers especially the Senior High School Student of
Hinigaran National High School

This study will serve as a basis to the teachers that was concerned to their
student sleeping habits and for them to monitor the changes that their students
experiencing because of watching Korean dramas out of limit.
THE STUDENTS
This study will benefits the Senior High School Grade 12 HUMSS students
because they are the main focus of this study and also lead them an advice if
there’s something negative impact.
THE TEACHERS
This study with be very beneficial to the teachers purpose of having a knowledge
about the Korean dramas and its impact on sleeping habits. Teachers are
responsible to give an advice to their students to minimize watching the Korean
dramas segment.
THE PARENTS
This study benefits the parents of the students in their situation, to control and
have some rules on the sleeping habits of their children after the negative impact
affects to their students.
The research will benefits the future researchers of them to have references and
ideas related to the studies of literature to the future studies or researchers.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Sleep habits were defined as that behavior pertaining to time to bed, time to
rise, drinking coffee at night, duration of night sleep and consumption of
sleeping pills.

The input of the study focuses on the Senior High School students where in the
researcher includes the socio-demographic profile of the students which contains
the age and gender. Through the use of questionnaires encompassing close and
open needed information. The output of the study contained the major impact of
Korean dramas among the Senior High School students in terms of lifestyle and
behaviors. The output further contains the factors that influence the Senior High
School students to watch Korean dramas.
THEORITICAL FRAMWORK
We should be smart in picking what to watch. Korean drama in our way of life
rolls out improvements throughout our life, however we should realize that
everything in our life is not the same as to Korean drama’s story. Korean show
can give us numerous effects to our life, positive effect and negative effect that
may create our way of life to do awful things or great things (Tobing, 2015).

dramas, focusing on the lies and love stories of the younger generations to
attract young viewer (Kalbi, 2016).
Over the years Korean dramas have endue immensely, but we can all agree what
it has been for the better. The reach and impact they have today is so much
greater than back in the day (Nanse, 2017).

RESEARCH DESIGN
In order to determine the general findings of Korean dramas among the Senior
High School students of Hinigaran National School, this research study utilized
aspects of both qualitative and quantitative research. According to Wilig (2001),
qualitative research is usually concerned with meaning, and in particular how
people make sense of the world and how participants experience events from
their perspective. In connection, the according to Jones (2006), both qualitative
and quantitative research is used in studies throughout many disciplines
including science and social sciences. Qualitative research is concerned with
complete and detailed description of events whereas quantitative research
creates statistical models o explain events. Through using mixed method, the
researchers will able to gather relevant and accurate information and findings
regarding the impact of Korean dramas among the Senior High School students
of Hinigaran National High School.
Furthermore, under this mixed method is a descriptive ex-post facto study and
basic qualitative studies. Researchers used descriptive method to help the
researchers describe the current phenomena or situation regarding the impact of
Korean drams among the students of HNHS. Joyson (2014) stated that, one of
the main benefits descriptive method is that fact that is uses both quantitative
and qualitative data in order to find the solution to whatever is being studied.
This turn can help to describe and give an answer to certain life experiences. Ex-
post facto is applicable in this study because it will helps the researchers to
identify the major factors of why most Filipino youths today specially the Senior
High School students are attracted to watch Korean dramas resulting to its
impact. According to answer.com (2017) es-post facto research is the process
beginning with a phenomenon and going backward in time to identify casual
factors. It measures the cause and effect relationship without manipulating the
independent variable.
This study further used basic qualitative studies because it will help the
researchers able to get the opinions and views of the students regarding Korean
dramas in their life.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUES
To know about the research paper, the researchers gathered some data and
information through internet and have looked for the related literature and study
to this topic. Through this the researchers have gathered some important details
and information related to this topic. The researchers also made some
questionnaires were in Dichotomous scale and Rating scale were used so that it
will make later of request and submitted it to school principal or teacher adviser
to allow the researcher to admitter the survey. After receiving the approved
permit the researcher will conduct the survey form of questionnaire to Grade 12
Senior High School students of Hinigaran National High School. The researcher
will give some time to the respondents to answer the questionnaire before
regaining it. The researchers will retrieve the questionnaire personally from the
respondents to make sure that the survey material was answered and returned.
Data gathered will be recorded, tabulated and analyze. The results of the data
will be interpreted and considered as findings of the researchers.

DATA GATHERING
We will pick 5 students in every classroom that is watching Korean dramas. The
questionnaire will be answered online and we will send to the respondents the
link of this survey so that they can be able to answer it directly. The respondents
finish to answer the survey. After the respondents finish to answer the survey we
will gather all the data and make some analysis about it so that we could get
some information to finish our research about our topic.
