NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS

EARTHQUAKE DRILL

November 27, 2020

PNHS 4th Quarter NSED , OUTDONE!!!

Time and again , preparedness to disaster such as an earthquake is the utmost


objective of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) ,
but this last quarter drill focuses also on promoting “Tsunami Preparedness” amidst
COVID-19 pandemic since Cabuyao is near the perimeter of Laguna de Bay.

To recall, the NSED has been rescheduled to the later date November 27, 2020
due to typhoon Ulysses. Thus, preparedness to flood is also needed.

In cooperation and observance of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill


this last quarter celebration, the School Disaster Risk and Reduction Management
Team coordinator widely disseminated home-based simultaneous earthquake drill by
all families under Pulo National High School organization.

Students ,parents , teachers , and non-teaching personnel took time to do the


basics of duck, cover, hold concept at home. The activity aimed to prepare and instill in
the mind of students as well as the parents , teaching and non-teaching personnel the
importance of being prepared. An earthquake may have a parallel damage as the super
typhoon Ulysses. During a damaging earthquake, fire , or flood , life protecting actions
must be taken immediately. There must be time to decide what to do next; every
member of the family must already know how to react appropriately.

After the disaster , future life protecting actions may be necessary. Practice at
home with the simple basics of duck , cover , and hold will guarantee that these crucial
steps are executed as quickly as possible.

The School Disaster Risk and Reduction Management t(SDRRM) Team


coordinator of PNHS , Ramil S. Sanchez , still assumed the task by continuously
overseeing the needs of the school and making this drill outdone.

Based on the reports forwarded, there were no casualties reported during the
conduct of home-based earthquake drill.
