General lnformation . - Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ is a prívate nonprofit institution of higher education,
created by Executive Decree No. 3166 on October 18, 1995, published in the Official Registry No. 809 on October 25, 1995.

The University is inspired by the Liberal Arts. Within this philosophy all disciplines of knowledge are equally important and
in that spirit the University promotes individual freedom, entrepreneurship, awareness of the environment, creativity,
innovation and self-confidence.

Accreditation . • Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ is accredited by the accreditation authority of higher education
of Ecuador.

Degrees Granted. - The academic degrees at the undergraduate and graduate programs granted by USFQ are issued in
accordance with the regulations of the higher education authority of Ecuador. A degree is awarded to the student who
meets ali the requirements of the program's curriculum. Once a degree has been granted, the upper part of the official
transcript will specify the degree awarded, its date of issue, higher education level, the name of the program that has been
completed, the academic school to which it belongs and the graduation certificate number linked to the degree.

Academic Calendar. - Universidad San Francisco de Quito USFQ operates with a semester system. Each semester lasts
sixteen weeks which includes final exams. The academic year consists of two regular semesters anda summer session . The
first semester of the academic year begins in August and the second semester in January.

Credits System. - One credit corresponds to a workload of 15-16 hours of class per semester plus 30 hours of independent
work.

Grading System. - Grades are based on the following system:

Excluded course. - lf the letter E appears next to the student's grade, it means that the course cannot fulfill an academic
requirement and has been excluded from the total numbers of credits and is not considered in the GPA.

Grade Point Average {GPA). - The cumulative grade point average is a weighted average of the grade points obtained in ali courses.
The number of credits determines the weight of each course.

Undergraduate Honors. - Undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher are placed in the Dean's List.
Undergraduate students who have a GPA of 3.7 or higher are placed in the Chancellor's List.
