Prayer
Before we start may I request
everyone to please stand so we
can pray? Can someone lead the
prayer?
CTE
Classroom Management
As you take your seat, please check if
your chair is properly aligned. Kindly
pick up the trash under your table and
put it in your bag.
(The students will check the alignment of their
chair and pick up pieces of trash.)
Checking Attendance
Is there any absentee/s for today?
Ma’am! we have no absentee for today!
Review
Last meeting, we tackled about Cell theory.
Before we proceed to our new lesson let’s
make some review on what we have
discussed yesterday.
Who are the scientist study about cell ? Mr.
Leo can you answer what is it?
Motivation:
Activity:
Activity Proper
Group/ Individual Activity:
Students will perform the activity and
will be given enough time to answer.

B. Cell membrane the fluid mosaic model
1. Using your white cartolina draw the
cell membrance and put the label of each
part.
Nucleus
It is an organelle that contains several other sub-
organelles such as nucleolus, nucleosomes and
chromatins. It also contains DNA and other
genetic materials.
Centrosome
It is a small organelle found near to the nucleus
which has a thick centre with radiating tubules.
The centrosomes are where microtubules are
produced.
Cytoplasm
A jelly-like material which contains all the cell
organelles, enclosed within the cell membrane.
The substance found within the cell nucleus,
contained by the nuclear membrane is called the
nucleoplasm.
Golgi Apparatus
A flat, smooth layered, sac-like organelle which is
located near the nucleus and involved in
manufacturing, storing, packing and transporting
the particles throughout the cell.
Detailed Reading: Golgi Apparatus
CTE
Mitochondrion
They are spherical or rod-shaped organelles with a
double membrane. They are the powerhouse of a
cell as they play an important role in releasing
energy.
Ribosome
They are small organelles made up of RNA-rich
cytoplasmic granules, and they are the sites of
protein synthesis.
Vacuole
A membrane-bound organelle present inside a cell
involved in maintaining shape and storing water,
food, wastes, etc.
Nucleopore
They are tiny holes present in the nuclear
membrane which are involved in the movement of
nucleic acids and proteins within the cell.
Application:
Why is it important to understand cell structure
and function?
By understanding how cells work in healthy and
diseased states, cell biologists working in animal, plant
and medical science will be able to develop new
vaccines, more effective medicines, plants with
improved qualities and through increased knowledge a
better understanding of how all living things live.
