I. General Induction of cut to length line
cut to length line can do uncoiling leveling, measuring, shear to length and stacking
work. It mainly includes uncoiler, leveler, measuring, shear, conveyor, stacker,
hydraulic system, pneumatic system and electrical system, etc., the line can make
sure of accurate feeding and shearing. It can be widely used in cold or hot rolling
carbon steel, tinplate, stainless steel and all the other kinds of metal materials with
surface coating.
The line is controlled by NC servo system. It has PLC controlled the length
measurement. The information of length, shearing numbers and speed can be input
to the PLC systems. When the need shearing length is reached, the machine can cut
automatically. The line speed can be adjusted, It has a measuring with high
precision, and whole line can work automatically and operate easily, smooth sheet
can be made.

IV. DESCRIPTION OF EQUIPMENTS
1. COIL CAR:
Application:
The entry coil car will be hydraulically actuated. It will be used to Traverse and load
coil onto the mandrel of the decoiler.
To gain time while working, new coil is loaded to the coil car and lifted to the
mandrel position while working, new coil is loaded to the coil car and lifted to the
mandrel position by hydraulic lift and the coil car starts to move horizontally let the
mandrel go inside through the coil then the loading car moves to the part position.
Construction:
The coil car is a fabricated body of prime materials; mounted on hardened wheels
and axles with spherical roller Bearing. The lifting face must be of ‘V’ shaped design.
The cradle (i.e. V – Shape frame) is raised and lowered by a Guide rail and a pair of
hydraulic cylinders. The coil car traverse is accomplished by a electrical motor with
a gear and pinion drive. A drag chain is provided for routing the hydraulic hoses for
lift and traverse functions and Drag Chain is provided with bottom steel Pad.

2. DECOILER WITH SNUBBER ROLL
A. Decoiler
Application:
The decoiler can handle the coil and be capable of feeding the coil into the Cut to
Length Line, and also rewinding partially consumed coils, so they can be
re-strapped whilst still on the mandrel, before returning to Coil Storage Facility for
use at a later date.
Construction:
The coil is handling and collapsed and expansion by hydraulic expansion. Steel
fabricated duly machined, mounted on heavy duty shafts on anti-friction bearings.
Collapse by Hydraulic cylinders. The individual body and the whole housing are
fabricated steel construction. Mandrel equipped with hydraulic actuated 4 segments
sliding wedge for expansion.
Pneumatic controlled braking system is provided to minimize over running of the

coil with tension. A brake is provided to stop the line whenever the line stops for any
reason.

B. Snubber Roller (Guiding Equipment)

Application:
Anti coil break roll and guiding the coil to the cut to length line. The will operate
with the uncoiler and the coil peeler to feed-up the coil end. The roll will be bear on
the top of the coil, restraining the outer wrap and driving it forward.
A motor is driven Snubber, (pressure roller) to prevent the coil from clock springing
when the coil retention straps are removed. Grooves are required on the Snubber, to
enable re-strapping of partially consumed coils when they are rewound on the
mandrel. The Snubber will be capable of driving in both feed and retrieve
directions.
Construction:
Snubber Roll is made out of Steel Pipe with suitable journals duly machined to be
mounted on anti-friction bearings. The Snubber Roll is coated with poly rubber.
Snubber roll is driven by electrical motor with chain & sprocket system. Snubber
Roll and its Drive system is fitted on fabricated structure which in turn is mounted
on the adjacent structure of Pinch Roll body. Actuation of arm shall be by hydraulic
cylinder.
3. PRECISION LEVELER:

A. peeler table
Application:
A hydraulically actuated peeling spade extending to the coil tongue on the Un-Coiler
to “peel off” the leading edge of the coil and then retract to the Entry Pinch Rolls of
the Straightener. This enables the operator to remotely thread the leading edge of
the coil without having to manually handle the coil.
The operator activates the positioning of the peeling spade at either end by
hydraulic cylinders, actuated by “push button” controls.
Construction:
Welded steel plate construction pivot mounted from entry pinch roll. Telescoping
and positioned by double action hydraulic cylinders
B. pinch roll
Application
Pinch rolls are provided to pull the strip from the coil mounted on the decoiler.
Adequately sized pinch rolls are provided at entry of the leveler to ensure that
the sheet is not damaged by the pinching forces.
Construction:
The body of the Pinch Roll shall be fabricated out of prime plates and machined to

house the roll assemblies. The top roll must deflect the strip from Uncoiler to suit
the pass line and actuate up and down by means of a pair of pneumatic cylinders.
The bottom roll drives by motorize.
Fabrication of main frame is done with prime plates & materials and Frame is
Stress Relieved. Machining is done accurate and precise. Bearings provided for
rotary function is Roller Bearings which is grease lubricated.
C. LEVELER
Application:
The leveler can flatten the coil steel and feeding to the cut to length line.
Construction
Each work roll is supported by back up roll and guarantees the work roller without
radial and changing. Upper and lower rollers have back up rolls to improve
straightening accuracy.
The lower machine bed holds working rolls, supported by rows of short back-up
rolls. The upper machine frame holds working rolls, supported by rows of short
back-up rolls. The back-up rolls rows are fixed to the upper frame and have a wedge
adjustment for set-up.
The upper bridge and therefore the upper bank has an up and down parallel
movement to adjust the rolls penetration according to the material thickness by
electrical motorize
The upper frame is horizontally pivoted, i.e. it can rotate around a horizontal axis
perpendicular to the line axis to allow a deeper penetration of the entry rolls. The
upper frame position and therefore that of the rolls penetration, as well as the
back-up rolls position, are controlled by pushing button.
The carrying structure of the machine is well dimensioned according to the possible
deformation and holds the upper frame movement’s controls.
The machine is driven by AC variable speed motor and has its own variable drives.

4. Loop Bridge:
Application
The entry loop will create a buffer zone for easier centering for next stage
process. Light source and sensors is provided for sensing the loop position
Construction:
A hydraulic operated threading table is provided for initial threading. Quadrant
tables with rolls is provided at the entry and exit of the loop bridge. Hinge Table
is actuated (i.e. Swinging) with hydraulic cylinder.

5.Side Guide Roller:

A. Side guide rolls
Side guide comprising of two sets of rolls with flanges, is provided to guide the
lead end of the strip. Two sets of rolls with flanges are arranged to slide on
sliding surfaces by screw mechanism to move individual as also together the rolls
to guide the strip centrally.
Width shall be adjustable manually with hand-wheel and movement shall be
accomplished by guiding shaft with Left Hand & Right Hand Thread on the
same shaft.
Construction:

A fabricated body with roller mounted vertically at two sides (2 Nos. rollers each
side). Roller is mounted vertically.
6. servo Feeder
Application
It can straighten and make more precision for flatten the steel and measuring the
length cutting set from the PLC program.
Construction:
2 Pinch Roll shall be fabricated out of prime plates and machined to house the
roll assemblies. The bottom roll and the top roll are driven by motorize. The top
roll deflects the strip from the pit loop to suit the pass line and roll actuates up
and down by means of a pair of pneumatic cylinders.
2 Measuring Roller, the bottom roll and the top roll are driven by motor. The top
roll is actuate up and down by a pair of pneumatic cylinders. The measuring
roller assembly is with Servo Motor driven which will give the sense of length to
be cut.

7. Shearing Machine
Application:
The shearing machine can cut the coil steel automatically and communicate with
the PLC program.
Construction:
1. The frame is entirely welded with steel plates, and treated to relive stress by
tempering, Lubrication system is centralized. Shear is operated on Crank shaft
mechanism. The operated crank type shear.
2. Blades: Shears provided with high quality, three segment Hot die steel blades
for longer tool life , easy in assembly of blades reduce down time .The Blades are
four edged .

8. CONVEYOR:
Construction:
The conveyor consist of a head end roll and a tail end roll with belt tightening
arrangement. The conveyor belt is of polyester or high class rubber. The drive to the
head end roll is through a gear box and an AC variable speed drive. Body of
conveyor is manufactured & assembled is such manner so that there shall be no
vibration. At the end of Conveyor table, a Pinch Roll is assembled. The top roll must
deflect the Sheet from Conveyor to suit the pass line & drop it to dropping platform.
The bottom roll shall be provided with a electrical motor drive.

9. AUTO STACKER

Application:
Stake the plate and discharge.
Construction:
Dropping Platform is an assembly of a fabricated structure and swinging arm or
stacker shelf with Bearings. Swinging arm actuate with Pneumatic Cylinder. The
stacker have an adjustable end stop and adjustable side stops or is provided with
stacker box. The arm is moved to & fro by a pair of pneumatic cylinders with
equalizer shaft.

10. LIFTING TABLE
Application:
The cut sheets will be carried out to auto stacker with belt conveyer. Cut sheets
will be stacked in auto stacker to lift the sheet before stacking on the stacker
pallet. One spare stacker will always be available for loading and unloading the
pallets. The movement is perpendicular to the pass line.
Construction:
Tables is provided between equipments wherever necessary for supporting and easy
threading of the strip. All the tables is provided with non marking sheets on the top
surface. Lifting by hydraulic, capacity for 3000kgs, and run our sheet 3000mm long.
11. output table
Application
The stacked sheets will be carried out from the table from auto stacker.
Construction
Bed of the table must support with wood so that scratch mark should not occur on
the sheet. The blower in the stacker will blew up the thin plate to avoid drop on the
platform freely.
Two trolley are provided so that one is in line and another one is off line. The
function must be like whenever one sheet bundle is completed, the trolley is moved

outside and another trolley move inside.
 Trolley Side Shifting: By electrical motor.
12. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

One hydraulic Power Pack with pump is provided for the hydraulic functions in the
line and it will remain in our scope of supply which is as follows. Hydraulic Power
Pack is consisting of:
 pumping unit
 Standard accessories like temperature switch, filler and breather, etc.
 Control valves:
 The control valves for each equipment or group of equipment is mounted on
the respective equipment and piping.
 Each control valve / group of valves is provided with an isolating valve on
the ’P’ line and Check valve on the ‘T’ line for ease of maintenance.
 Pressure switch is provided for Uncoiler expansion cylinder for interlock
13. PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS:

Pneumatic controls are used at various equipments for actuations. Pneumatic
control valves is mounted on individual equipment and piped. The pneumatic
systems is consist of following:
• The piping on equipment shall consist of necessary flexible piping with push in
type of fittings for easy maintenance.
14.ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND PROGRAMMING

The system has a complete control of the equipment by means of one programmable
PLC. The system is provided with a PLC in the main control desk like HMI (Human
Machine Interface). The parameters of work are incorporated in the HMI and
communicated with the PLC.
Operator Interface (HMI)

Since the major components of the Automation metal cut to length line solutions are
on Control Net™, all process and diagnostic information is available for display and
interaction with the operator. By pre-programming these displays into proven
user-friendly designs, we’ve made complex HMIs affordable. Machine is supplied
with the following screens:
Machine Overview –

Increases efficiency by providing the operator a visual display of drive and machine
parameters in both a bar graph and digital format.
Fault Summary – This screen identifies alarms and faults. When a fault occurs that
causes the line to shut down, all faults are identified and the first fault flashes.
Line Run Permissive – The line run permissive screen lists all drives, auxiliary and
other associated equipment required to start the cut to length line.
Automated Stop On Length or Diameter Set-up – The operator sets up the automated
stop on length or diameter counters via this screen.
Electrical System supply will remain in our scope and is provided with following list.
The electrical system is consisting of following:
• PLC and touch panel for interlocking and programming from Siemens
• All field elements like, encoders, proxies etc.
• All control desks

Foundation Bolts:
Foundation Bolts remain in our scope. We will supply only foundation bolt details
with Drugs of foundation Layout & Foundation Bolts.
Interconnecting Piping:
Hydraulic & Pneumatic pipes and fittings will be supplied by manufacturer
TRAINING
In addition to above, technical experts from the manufacturer will fully and
adequately train operators nominated by the consignee during commissioning of the
machine.
The supplier shall offer complete installation and commissioning of the machine on
a turnkey basis. The turnkey offer shall include the following activities, timely
completion of which shall be the responsibility of the supplier.
Design and construction of foundation suiting local soil conditions to match the
receipt / arrival date of the machine at the consignee’s premises (construction of
foundation completed within 90 days). Alternatively, supplier shall install and
commission the machine on anti vibration mounts of suitable size and capacity.

Installation and commissioning of the machine completed within 30days from the
date of receipt of the machine or date from which clear site is provided by consignee,
whichever is later.
Consignee will provide 380v, 3 phase 50 Hz AC supply at a single point (mains).

Provision of all tools and equipment, technical and unskilled manpower, material
handling equipment and material for installation and commissioning will be
Consignee’s responsibility.
Advise consignee in time regarding schedule for requirement of clear site for
construction of foundation and other infrastructure.
Advise consignee in time regarding any other resources / facilities required
Seller will send 2 engineers to install the machine and train the operates, buyer will
pay for the accommodation for engineers in the local place during the working days,
buyer will paid for the flight tickets for the engineer round trips. And pay for
engineer salary USD 60/day.
WARRANTY:
The seller will provide parts and service at no charge to the buyer for 1 year, and
will provide free technicians support during the working, electrical parts fail, the
Seller will send new replacement parts by express delivery to the Buyer free of
charge during the warranty period. After 1 years , the Seller will sell spare parts to
the Buyer at factory cost.
All relevant standards will be adhered to in preparation of engineering drawings

and documentation.
Documentation will be prepared by using following software / tools:

Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc …).
AutoCAD.
Documentation will be delivered in three sets of paper copies and in CD.
