 Contributed to a study on a localized Liveability Index sponsored by Newtown Kolkata Development
Authority, aligned with India’s Smart Cities Mission.
 Developed research questionnaires and administered e-surveys to respondent populations,
determining infrastructural, health & educational factors relevant to New Town.
 Identified statistically relevant parameters and devised a novel scoring algorithm for the Liveability
Index, helping measure, track and improve New Town’s holistic development.

Management Intern at eBay India Analytics Center May 2017 – Jun

 Saved 12K man-hours ($105K cost) annually and enabled early detection of lucrative demand
patterns, developing an automated report listing out product categories with high share of weekly
growth rate.
 Designed a Share of Growth Rate, enabling the isolation of product categories with a lower share of
overall GMV but high rate of week-on-week growth.
 Achieved Category segmentation using the Share of Growth Rate metric, and CHAID algorithm from
Excel’s XLSTAT addon. ETL and dashboard development was performed using Excel VBA.
Intern at General Electric Global Research, Bangalore Jan 2014 – Jun 2014
 Ideated, developed and tested potential features for SAFIRE multiphase flow-meter, improving
existing oil-flow, water-cut & gas measurement in a test rig, by 15%, 11% and 16% respectively.
 Implemented Generalized Hough Transform on cross-section images of rig pipelines using MATLAB,
computing the size, count of gas bubbles - an indicator of speed of the gross liquid flow.
 Applied data cleansing steps, PCA and DBSCAN clustering to high-dimensional acoustic
interferometry data, achieving distinct clusters characterizing oil, gas and water phases within the flow
regime.

agent’s adherence to standard script during customer calls. Potential annual audit savings of $2M.
● Built an LDA-based Topic Model in Python to provide specialized insights to risk stewards, by identifying
inherent loss events not attributable to a single Operational risk category.
● Successfully challenged the existing risk categories of 23% loss events in Latin America, by leveraging
Keras RNN to build a supervised model capable of auto-assigning risk category based on event details.
● Led 80hrs of online training on Operational Risk Management Framework and Python for team
members.
● Led the calibration of HSBC’s internal loss profile against ORX external losses, identifying inaccuracies
in external fraud capture and categorization, helping avoid $5M in underreporting fines from regulators.
● Built a self-service Python tool for automated production of 4 regulatory reports, including a GUI for
setting custom reporting parameters. Led to effort reduction from 560 hrs to 2.2 hrs annually.
● Designated SPOC for PRA, EBA and HKMA requests on quantitative clarifications, regulatory
documentation and ad-hoc insight generation.
● Led the handover exercise for 5 regulatory reports from regional teams and reinterpreted technical
regulatory guidelines to standardize processes, achieving 100% drop in error incidence.
● Designed metrics for monitoring overall Operational risk profile, helping senior managers decide on
mitigation strategies, track control effectiveness and determine internal appetite thresholds.

Management applications of 7-Eleven’s Mainframe-based Retail Management System.
