I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Identify the series of adjectives in the story.
2. Arrange the series of adjectives suitably in the sentences.
3. Construct sentences using the series of adjectives.
4. Appreciate the uses of it.
5. Show kindness to other people

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities

“Today we will read an interesting story but

before that I have here a pictures”
“Ma’am, there were boy and girl who’s helping

“What can you see in the pictures?” the old woman.”
“What did the boy and girl are doing in the

picture?” “Ma’am, the boy and girls are helping the old
woman to cross the street.”
Presentation of the Story:
Now, let us read a story about the boy with a kind
heart. I’ll give you 5 minutes to read the story.
THE BOY WITH A KIND HEART

Once upon a time, there were two friends John
and Roy who went to a farm to plant sugarcane.
Each of them carried food for their lunch and
bottle of water. Roy went ahead afterwards met
an ill-favored old woman. “Please give me a food
for I am hungry”, the old woman begged. Go
away, old woman, I have no food for you! Roy
shouted the old woman.
Meanwhile, his friend John was washing his
face in the stream when he saw the old woman,
“Please give me food for I am hungry,” the old
woman begged. Immediately, John opens his bag
where he kept his food and shares it to the old
woman. Then he gives her water the woman
thanked John for the food. Then she said, “You
have kind, big heart so I will give you a reward. (Read)
Go to tree with two large black stones under it.
Remove the stones and you find a bag filled with
money. John surprised but he thanked the old
woman and went to the tree that she described.
He found the two large black stones, removed
it and found a bag filled with money. He was so
happy and went running back to the old woman
and thank her again. But the old woman was
gone. “Thank you old woman, thank you Lord”
John shouted to the wind. Then he went back
home and happily bought some delicious food
and nice gold silk clothes for himself and his
family. A kind heart man always receives a
reward it may not always money, it may be
admiration, respect and love from others.

called adjectives.”
Adjectives are words that modify or describe a

noun and its pronoun. Giving more information
about the noun or pronoun’s definition.
Essentially, a ‘describing’ word.
“Class, as you can see there are more than one

word that describes a noun and pronoun, this is
what we call adjectives in series and it is a pattern
of adjective words in a sentence so that it will
more pleasing to hear. Of course it is also for
some reasons of language.”
How to order adjectives in English

In many languages, adjectives denoting
attributes usually occur in a specific order.
Generally, the adjective order in English is:
 Determiners — articles and other

limiters. See Determiners
 Observation — post determiners and
limiter adjectives (e.g., a real hero, a
perfect idiot) and adjectives subject to
subjective measure (e.g., beautiful,
interesting)
 Size and Shape — adjectives subject to
objective measure (e.g., wealthy, large,
round)
 Age — adjectives denoting age (e.g.,
young, old, new, ancient)
 Color — adjectives denoting color (e.g.,
red, black, pale)
 Origin — denominal adjectives denoting
source of noun (e.g., French, American,
Canadian)
 Material — denominal adjectives
denoting what something is made of
(e.g., woolen, metallic, wooden)
 Qualifier — final limiter, often regarded
as part of the noun (e.g., rocking chair,
hunting cabin, passenger car, book cover)
