3.2 How can you best define the GSTP Countries Trade agreement? (….. /2)

(a) The members of the agreement:

- Any member of the Group of 77 listed in annex I which has exchanged concessions
and has become party to this Agreement in accordance with its articles 25, 27 or 28;

- Any sub-regional/regional/inter-regional grouping of developing countries members

By the present Agreement, the participants establish the GSTP to promote and sustain

4.4. Does any of the two target markets impose Trade Remedies (Anti-dumping-,
Countervailing- or Safeguard measures) on your product?

4.5. For another look at trade remedies, find the remedy imposed on Vietnamese
imports of plastic tableware (HS-392410) by India. After finding the specific remedy,
briefly summarize it below:

country. Then, enter the above code as the HS Code and click “proceed.”

In the matter of Melamine Tableware and Kitchenware products, originating in, or


exported from the Peoples Republic of China, Thailand and Vietnam and imported
into India, the designated authority in its final findings published in the Gazette of
India has come to the conclusion that:

(i)  The subject goods have been exported to India from the subject countries
below its normal value;

(ii)  The domestic industry has suffered material injury


(iii)  The material injury has been caused by the dumped imports of the subject
goods from subject countries

(iv)  The injury has been caused cumulatively by the imports from the subject
countries, and has recommended imposition of definitive antidumping duty on
imports of the subject goods, originating in, or exported from subject countries
and imported into India, in order to remove injury to the domestic industry

4.6. What is the duty imposed by India on “plastic tableware” from Viet Nam and
when should the measure end? Is there any other country being targeted?

- The specific duty is 1,732.11 USD/ton.

- The measure should end in 4th December 2020 (04/12/2020).

- Other targeted countries: The People’s Republic of China and Thailand.
