THE PHILIPPINES SHOULD LEGALIZE THE MARRIAGE AMONG HOMOSEXUALS

According to the Philippines' Family Code, marriage is described as "a special compact of permanent union
between a man and a woman." The Philippine Constitution does not prohibit same-gender marriage. Individuals
are allowed, but couples of the same gender are not. Furthermore, the Philippines is a primarily Christian country,
particularly among Roman Catholics. There are debates and modifications in the Philippines' social and political
climate. And the issue of same-sex marriage legislation is the single most pressing issue confronting a Christian
country like the Philippines today. Marriage contradicts two of the fundamental ideals of the lesbian and gay
movement. Acceptance of a wide range of relationships as well as support for the homosexual identity culture.

As I make a formal defense of my stance, it could be argued that a more welcoming and less prejudiced
society benefits everyone. Everyone, regardless of who they are or who they love, must be protected by the law in
the same way. As a Filipino citizen, I agree that homosexual marriage should be legalized in our country. I believe
marriage is a fundamental right, whether you are LGBT or not. Marriage must be made available to those who
desire it if it is to be provided to those who seek it. Marriage between people of the same gender is a matter of
human rights, not religion. Allowing same-sex marriage in the Philippines would allow homosexuals and lesbians to
marry the person they love while also strengthening everyone's rights. From a human rights standpoint, extending
civil marriage to same-sex couples demonstrates respect for the fundamental rights of equality and
nondiscrimination. It should be enshrined in Philippine law. This proves that gay and lesbian couples should be
treated no differently than their heterosexual counterparts and that they should be able to marry like anyone else.
It is discriminatory to deny gay and lesbians the right to marry the person they love. This supports the idea that the
prohibition of same-sex marriage is a form of discrimination and classification of people based on their worth. They
said marriage between a man and a woman is the foundation of a healthy society because it produces stable
families and, in turn, productive adults. Allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry will fundamentally change
marriage and damage it at a time when the institution is already struggling due to rising divorce rates however
giving homosexual couples the right to marry will ultimately lead to granting people in other nontraditional
relationships the right to marry as well. Homophobia and violence against the LGBT community are lessened by
acknowledging the validity of homosexual partnerships and allowing them to marry. We are developing a culture
that is more inclusive, diverse, and democratic in nature by normalizing same-sex relationships. These are sufficient
reasons to show that homosexual marriage should be legalized in our country.

To conclude, Catholicism is the fundamental reason why the Philippines does not allow same-sex marriage,
but marrying someone of the same gender is not unethical. They should have the freedom to live their lives as they
see fit. As a same-sex partner, you may face a variety of issues, such as discrimination and the anxiety that your
gender may have an impact on your future children and parenting. However, I am aware that everything is
contingent on the acts of the parents. So, in my perspective, marriage is the union of two people who are in love
and agree to be legally linked together. Love knows no gender.
