HONKA LOG HOMES

INSPIRED BY NORDIC NATURE

“I want my house to be healthy and have
a long lifespan. I know where the building
material comes from. We have a small
child, so I can’t help thinking of all the
things he could be exposed to. That’s why
Finnish logs from Honka were a natural
choice for us and fit in so well with the
landscape here in Lapland.”

FINNISH QUALITY WORK BASED ON
60 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Honka was founded in 1958 in Eastern Finland when five brothers

became interested in building houses. Living in the forestry Finland,
the Saarelainen brothers grew up getting to know, love and understand
wood. They dreamt of creating houses of Finnish pine and giving
people around the world a chance to enjoy the soothing benefits of
solid wood. These brothers were the founders of Honka, the first
industrial log house manufacturer in the world.

Today, Honka is a global pioneer in modern log building technology.

We have built over 85,000 houses around the world and come up with
countless innovations that have changed log construction to its core.
Together with our partner network, we carry out building projects all
over the world - from Finland to Russia and Asia and North America.
All made in Finland of quality Finnish pine.

3 REASONS TO CHOOSE HONKA —
PASSIONATE ABOUT GOOD LIVING

Our passion is building ecologically sustainable log homes from the best
natural raw materials, where people are able to live and feel better.

1. A healthy and ecologically

sustainable home

All Honka homes are built from Finnish PEFC- wood and not release harmful substances into the
certified natural pine or spruce that meet the indoor air.

2. Designed
for you

What is the right log home for you? This

depends on your family’s lifestyle, and your
preferences. Many of the log houses we build are
Honka house models tailored to the customer’s
needs, or unique log homes designed according
to the customer’s wishes.

Our goal is to design aesthetically pleasing,

functional homes that last from one generation
to the next. Finnish design is as important
to us as the wood we build with. Today’s log
architecture allows for almost anything, from an
ultramodern city home to a traditional log home.
A healthy log home suited just for your needs
can be a reality for anyone!

log house manufacturer and a leader in wood
construction. Honka log houses are made of the
highest quality Finnish solid wood with decades
of experience and know-how in Karstula,
Central Finland. We have delivered over 85,000
houses and our houses can be found in more

Did you know that massive wood is a
surprisingly fireproof material that can
endure fire even better than concrete or
steel pillars? Wood contains about 15% of
water. Therefore, before wood can catch
fire, all water has to evaporate. In a fire, a
massive wood house will char, but it will
not collapse in the same way as light- or
steel-structured houses.

IT’S MORE THAN A HOUSE.
IT’S A HEALTHY HOME.

A genuine Honka log house is a warm, inviting and healthy place to live.
It’s an ecological home that quite literally takes good care of the people
who live within its walls.

Wood has been loved by people through the ages. Using cutting-edge
production technology, Honka processes the wood into the best possible
construction material. Despite the high degree of processing, the dense and
healthy log in the wall is still the same pine tree that has endured snow,
rain and sun in a Finnish forest.
