REFLECTION

The document discusses the impact of COVID-19 on education in the Philippines. It notes that the Philippines has been one of the most affected countries. Schools have closed for almost a year, shifting education to blended learning combining online and modular methods. However, this transition has been difficult for many students who lack internet access and technology, or who live in rural areas far from their schools. While blended learning has advantages for some, it disadvantages students without resources and creates difficulties in understanding lessons without teachers to explain. Overall, students are urged to persevere in their studies through this challenging time.

Philippines is the most affective place until now when it comes in COVID-19.

It
almost a year we are sacrificing this pandemic. The COVID 19 pandemic Has affected
the lives of all the learners in the Philppines since March. There have been many stories
of learners being distressed by the spread of the deadly virus as schools across the
country were closed. This is the first pandemic to have a profound impact on Education
not only in the Philippines but across the whole world. Here in the Philippines while the
government and health officials are trying to flatten the epidemiological curve of the
deadly virus, the Department of Education is working hard to transition the modality of
teaching from conventions "face to face" learning, or the traditional " brick and mortar
schools" to so called blended learning.

Blended Learning or hybrid learning from the standpoint of the DepEd is a fusion
of "online distant learning". But in our case we are experiencing a modular, we get some
of our modules in our school and return in specific date or day of returning, but some of
my professor required to pass in online, using internet connection. In my case, because
of the hindrances in my place, first we don't have internet access or internet connection.
Then after I reach my school, I will spent 3 rides. And even though the transportation
can also affect by the COVID 19, the fare in every transport vehicle are also affected,
only one passengers can sit in a tricycle. So I must spent 200 pesos to pass my module
in school. And my parents have no permanent job due to this pandemic, my father is a
laborer and my mother is a housewife, sometimes I can't go to school to pass my
modules, because of financial problem.

COVID 19 has an advantages and dis- advantages when it comes in Education.

Advantages when it comes to the student who live in an urban area where are they
have an internet access and they a lot gadgets or technology to use like laptop. They
can immediately pass their module in a required or given date. They can’t spent a lot of
money to go in their perspective school. Advantage also to those students who have a
parents who have a suitable job to sustain their needs in school.

The dis-advantage of this is those students who don’t have internet access. They
don’t have technology to use like laptop. Then those students who live in rural area or
far from the school, they can’t immediately go to school. And the dis-advantages of this,
is the student can’t really understand which module is all about, because it is given to
them, they are the one who need to understand by himself/herself and they need to
answer. Likewise in to face to face learning, the teachers explain to the students the
specific topic, so that the students can really understand it.

In conclusion of this, even though how hard the situation is, the learning process
is or the blended learning is, we should do our best to finish our study. COVID 19
pandemic can’t stop students to learn. What we are going to do is let’s pray and we
need to help each other due to this pandemic. Godbless!
