    GAUGE: 18 sts = 4”; 20 rounds = 4” in St st with larger needles.

    CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the gauge.

    SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
    Ssk = Slip next 2 sts knitwise, one at a time to right needle; insert
    point of left needle into the fronts of these 2 sts and knit them
    together from this position.

    NOTES
    Hat is worked in the round. As stitches are decreased and no
    longer fit on circular needle, divide them among 3 double pointed
    needles to complete.

    Rounds 8 – 12 of last chart repeat are completed in Duplicate st.

    HAT
    With smaller circular needles and A, cast on 84 sts. Place marker
    for beginning of round and join, being careful not to twist sts.
    Work in K1, p1 rib for 1½”. Change to larger circular needles and
    k 1 round even.

    Begin Pattern
    Begin with Round 1, work Rounds 1 - 12 of NY Skyline pattern
    from chart. Cut A.

    Continue in B only, work even in St st until piece measures 6¼”.
