ACTIVITY
A SPC Plan is prepared considering the special characteristics, tolerances mentioned on product drawing and custo
requirements F01 QAD 10

Statistical tools are selected & identified for controlling / verification of product characteristics in conjunction with t
production personnel.
Initially the characteristics are identified during the new product development. These characteristics are identified i
control plan

Responsibility for data collection, analysis and initiating actions based on the data analysis is assigned to the respon
engineer -process improvement.

Review the result of SPC on Quarterly basis and decide on


• Continuation of SPC application
• Switching over from one technique to other technique.
• Recalculating the control limit.

In case the process capability is more than 3, review the control plan, and decide continuation of SPC. ( Where proce
have a very high capability e.g. Cp/CPK > 3 the use of SPC may be discontinued)
Product samples from different stages of production are taken at regular intervals for performing inspection and tes
as per the Control Plan. Results are recorded in theSPC Data collection sheet.F02 QAD 10

In case the process capability index i.e CP/CPK less than 1.67 , review the complete process, identify the reason / r
cause why process are not stable ,take correction & corrective action and document all the action .After achieving th
process capabilities more than 1.67 continuously up to 3 study implement the X & R Chart on shop floor .

Generate the Daily,weekly,Monthly SPC summary report with CP/CPK Value along with action staus if process is
capabale & not capable and stable

Conforming product is released for further processing. Non-conforming product is kept separately and identified by
tag.
