1. Summarize the story of the movie in 500 words or more.

Answer:
In the beginning, King Zedekiah rejected Jeremiah’s prophecy and limited the prophet’s activity
to the courtyard of the guard in the palace. But Jeremiah predicted that Zedekiah would die in
Babylon and the city of Jerusalem would be taken over. And his prophecy came to pass in the
eleventh year of Zedekiah’s reign. Babylon took over the land, king Zedekiah was blinded, taken
to Babylon, and his sons were killed. Also, Jerusalem and the temple were burned and the temple
treasures were carried away to Babylon.
Babylonians under King Nebuchadnezzar besieged and captured Jerusalem. Nebuchadnezzar
broke through Jerusalem's walls, conquering the city. Zedekiah and his followers attempted to
escape but were captured on the plains of Jericho and taken to Riblah. The kingdom of Babylon
conquered Jerusalem. They took some of the smartest and strongest young men away from their
families in Jerusalem and brought them back to Babylon to serve the king. Daniel and his friends
were some of these young men. They were chosen to serve in the king’s court and become his wise
men.
Nebuchadnezzar has a dream. When he wakes up, he realizes that the dream has some important
message, so he consults his wise men. Wary of their potential to fabricate an explanation, the king
refuses to tell the wise men what he saw in his dream. Rather, he demands that his wise men tell
him what the content of the dream was, and then interpret it. When the wise men protest that this
is beyond the power of any man, he sentences all, including Daniel and his friends, to death.
Daniel receives an explanatory vision from God: Nebuchadnezzar had seen an enormous statue
with a head of gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, and feet of
mixed iron and clay, then saw the statue destroyed by a rock that turned into a mountain filling
the whole earth. Daniel explains the dream to the king: the statue symbolized four successive
kingdoms, starting with Nebuchadnezzar, all of which would be crushed by God's kingdom, which
would endure forever. Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges the supremacy of Daniel's god, raises
Daniel over all his wise men, and places Daniel and his companions over the province of Babylon.
Nebuchadnezzar recounts a dream of a huge tree that is suddenly cut down at the command of a
heavenly messenger. Daniel is summoned and interprets the dream. The tree is Nebuchadnezzar
himself, who for seven years will lose his mind and live like a wild beast. All of this comes to pass
until, at the end of the specified time, Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges that "heaven rules" and his
kingdom and sanity are restored.
King Nebuchadnezzar set up a golden image in the plain of Dura and commanded that all his
officials bow down before it. All who failed to do so would be thrown into a blazing furnace. Certain
officials informed the king that the three Jewish youths Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, who
bore the Babylonian names Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and whom the king had
appointed to high office in Babylon, were refusing to worship the golden statue. The three were
brought before Nebuchadnezzar, where they informed the king that God would be with them.
Nebuchadnezzar commanded that they be thrown into the fiery furnace, heated seven times hotter
than normal, but when the king looked he saw four figures walking unharmed in the flames, the
fourth "like a son of God." Seeing this, Nebuchadnezzar brought the youths out of the flames and
promoted them to high office, decreeing that anyone who spoke against God should be torn limb
from limb.
Cyrus went to Babylon and took Nebuchadnezzar ’s place. As Cyrus vowed in his cylinder to
respect the people of Babylon, and since he liberated the incarcerated Jews to be returned to their
homeland, he was viewed as the legitimate successor of the ancient Babylonian kings and became
popular in Babylon itself, in contrast to Nabonidus.
King Darius left Daniel in the lions' den overnight. But the lions did not kill Daniel, because God
was protecting him. King Darius looked into the lions' den the next morning, and found that
Daniel was still alive.
Cyrus is famous for freeing the Jewish captives in Babylonia and allowing them to return to their
homeland. Cyrus was also tolerant toward the Babylonians and others.
2. What books of the Old Testament is the story of the movie can be read?
Answer: The story of Zedekiah is told in 2 Kings 24–25, 2 Chronicles 36, and the book of
Jeremiah. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are figures from the biblical Book of Daniel. They
are first mentioned in Daniel 1.
3. Was the story of the movie still happening in our present time in the Philippines?
Answer: No, but all the biblical prophesies has not been fulfilled. Daniel gave a prophesy in the
movie about the second coming of Jesus that has not happened yet.
4. What moral lessons that you’ve got from the movie?

Answer: God was the central aspect of Daniel’s life, his daily routine was to kneel towards
Jerusalem from his window and pray to God 3 times a day. Of course, this became the reason he
was thrown into the lion’s den. There was nothing more important to Daniel than God. Everything
in Daniel’s life revolved around God. Christians today can learn from this example.
God is in control of all universe. We should pray always and forgive people. Love God, Love
People, change the world by sharing Jesus.
