- Should have a minimum of 8 years- experience in Vertica Development/DBA skillset.

- Design, implement and maintain physical database structures and associated


hardware, network, and system configurations.

- Manage virtual & hardware resources.

- Setup backup, replication, load balancing, and clustering.

- Design and administer database security strategies.

- Ensure business continuity in the case of disaster.

- Improve and promote operational scalability and standardization.

- Manage SLA (service level agreement) for various data sources/targets.

- Monitor and tune databases for efficiency and help drive improvements.

- Create tools and processes to automate administration and monitoring.

- Manage data, maintain data integrity, using effective utility and disk management
procedures.

- Collaborate and consult with application development teams to determine


database/system platform selection, efficient database design, and access.

- Use knowledge and expertise of existing database environments to make


recommendations for opportunities to share data and/or reduce data redundancies.

- Plan, coordinate with IT Operations and developers & execute upgrades for new
product releases.

- Should have experience in DB installation and Upgrade.

- Ability to write and debug to Teradata TPT, BTEQ, Fast export, Multi-load, Fast
load-scripts.

- Extensive knowledge of Teradata architecture.

- Good hold and Unix and shell scripting.

- Ability to understand high-level technical solutions from business & develop


solutions/code/tests and deploy using Vertica. Provide support.

- As an Individual contributor, should be able to multi-task and handle multiple


projects/assignments.

- Should be an expert in writing complex Vertica SQLs, analytical functions, flex


tables, etc.

- Should be highly familiar with projections, copy utilities, hashing,


segmentation, partition swapping, delete vectors, etc.

- Complex import/export scripts.

- Should have experience working on large databases (+50TB)


- Should have excellent knowledge of Vertica Cluster Architecture (WOS, ROS, TM)
and write SQLs/applications for distributed computing.

- Should have good knowledge of Vertica Components, Logical and Physical Schemas,
Databases.

- Should be highly experienced in Performance Tuning in Vertica.

- Ability to understand explain plans.

- Should have a high degree of debugging and analytical skills.

- Should have Data migration experience from and to different DB to Vertica.

- Should have experience in Data-modeling and Data-warehousing.

Note: Along with this if we get someone with working/migration knowledge of Google
BigQuery it would really great.
