combine the advantages of computer control
for the non-safety part and the use
of safety relays for interlocking.

Computerized interlocking
systems - PIPC
Based on industrial PC-compatible
computers, the PIPC is a generation of
computerized interlocking systems suitable
for centralized control of railway stations.

Computerized interlocking
systems - ALISTER
ALISTER is an electronic interlocking system
suitable for small and medium-sized railway
stations. It implements off-the-shelf
hardware components and software modules
used in many areas of industrial automation.
For the maintenance teams, it incorporates
PRS with interlocking simulator diagnostic tools that can be consulted
remotely and interfaces easily with the
existing interlocking system environment.
It has been specified and developed
in conformity with CENELEC standards

to ensure the SIL 4 safety level.
Making full use of its engineering and design office
resources, the Vossloh Cogifer Signalling Department
routinely produces turnkey signalling installations,
including associated services such as training
and maintenance, and incorporating in particular
interlocking systems, automatic and manual blocks,
level crossings and centralized controls.

maintenance services.

SIAM ST2 thus aids decision-making

and preparation of site work by precise,
remote knowledge of the anomaly
and its environment.

Sensors SURVAIG®: TRACK AND TUR

Vossloh Cogifer and its subsidiary Siema Applications have developed
a range of sensors for remote maintenance:
- direct measurement of switch operating forces,
- contineous direct measurement of switch mechanism stoke associated
with quality of switch point closing and opening,
- sensors for measuring the electrical parameters related to operation
of switch mechanisms and turnouts monitoring devices.

These sensors are managed by electronics tailored to the railway

environment for measurement acquisition and processing, establishment
of diagnostics and alarm monitoring.

Design and production facilities

Design
Design work is carried out by a design office using 3D CAD software,
enabling in particular the tailoring of safety products to customer needs
and the development of new products in close liaison with the Research
and Development department.

Signalling and remote maintenance system designs are produced using:

- dedicated CAD workstations for drawing up electrical diagrams
meeting railway standards,
- tools for development and validation of software, written for
computerized signalling and track monitoring installations.

Production facilities These facilities can handle routine production requirements
The factory workshop covers 6,000 sq. m and manufacturing of new prototypes and test benches
and has the following facilities: necessary for prototype testing.
After assembly, most of the products are inspected
For safety product manufacture: on computerized work stations.
Signalling Department activities and sites satisfy
- 2 numerically-controlled lathes
the ISO 9001 version 2000 international standard.
- 1 machining unit:
- 2 vertical-spindle units
(including one for high-speed machining),
- 1 horizontal-spindle unit,
- 1 unit with horizontal and vertical spindles
for high-speed machining
- conventional vertical milling machines,
- a paint booth.

for signalling system manufacture:

- an electrical wiring shop.
