Current Clinical Practice
My current practice includes twenty-eight clinical contact hours per week in pri
vate practice. Patients are normal neurotic adults and children as young as fou
r seen one hour per week, usually carrying six cases at twice to three per week,
as time will allow. Primary mode of treatment is psychoanalytic, supportive/in
sight-oriented treatment.
However, I have expertise in short-term treatment (6-8 sessions) and utilize a s

ystems paradigm for group treatment. Types of difficulties include a variety of
adjustment disorders, dysthymia/depression and anxiety, and problems with charac
ter pathology, including narcissism and dependency. Length of stay in treatment
, with the exception of adjustment disorders, is six months to three years. In
addition, I provide on-site crisis stabilization for victims of workplace violen
ce, suicide interventions, support to managerial staff, and consultation for han
dling workplace deaths. I work as needed for Soldiers returning from Active Duty
, both at Fort Bragg NC, and at VFWS, as a Family Life Consultant. In addition,
I provide supervision for the NC Licensure Board for Clinical Social Workers on
probation for ethics violations. Provide supervision for provisionally licensed
clinical social workers and students, in addition to providing supervision to p
rofessionals referred from the North Carolina Social Work Board for ethical viol
ations.
