    1) Three reservoirs are connected with smooth pipes at a junction point. It is known that flow
    direction in pipe-2 is from reservoir B to the junction, and the discharge of pipe-1 is equal to
    the discharge of pipe-2, Q1= Q2 . For pipe characteristics given in the table below, compute
    the water surface elevation in reservoir C. ( = 1.0 x 10-6 m2 /s )

    2) Two tanks of liquid with =1.0 x 10-6 m2/s are connected by two pipes in series as shown
    in the figure below. If the pipe wall roughness is , the diameters of the first and the second
    pipe are D1 and D2 ; the lengths of the first and second pipes are L1 and L2 respectively,
    find the value of H for the given discharge, Q.

    3) Water flows in a parallel pipe system having valves as shown in figure below. If the discharge
    through the first pipe is Q1 is 3 m3/s, find the discharges in the other pipes, where L=length of
    the pipe, D=diameter of the pipe, f=friction factor, K=minor loss coefficient.

    4) For the given source and loads in a two loop network shown in figure below, how will the
    flow be disributed and what will be the pressures at the load points if the pressure at the source
    is 400 kPa. Assume horizontal pipes and f=0.012 for all pipes. Initially assume QAB=0.3m3/s,
    and QAD=0.15m3/s. Stop after three iterations for each loop.
    5) Reservoir A is connected to reservoir B by pipe system shown in the figure below.
    Discharge of pipe 1 is 0.05 m3/s. For H=20 m ,
    a) Find the discharge of pipes 2 and 3 and compute the diameter of pipe 3.
    b) What will be the equivalent length of a pipe having a diameter of 150 mm with
    =0.0016m replaced instead of pipes 1 and 2 and calculate discharge for this case?
    Neglect minor losses, water=1x10-6 m2/s.
