COB ADVANTAGES
• Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers can be used for
pressure testing and plugging all pipes, pipelines
and pipe work fabrications and any other orifices
between 2” to 72” (50 to 1800 mm) diameter.
• These Steel Test Plugs are specifically designed for
heavier duty applications such as long immersion
in water, for use at higher temperatures or for
contact with acidic or alkaline environments for
which the nylon, aluminum and inflatable plugs
are unsuitable.
• Low cost expanding Steel Test Plugs and
Stoppers range for sizes up to 6 feet (1800 mm)
diameter.
• The standard seals are made from natural
rubber. Synthetic rubber seals are also available.
• Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers are available as
single plugs as well as double versions for greater
sealing capacity and stability inside pipes.
• All Plugs conform to Quality Standards BS8005
and BS EN752-4 for low pressure testing and
sealing of pipes.

Qwik-Gate Long Reach plugs are custom made to fit specific applications where a longer reach, larger diameters or higher pressures are required.
When larger diameters are required the forces on the plug grows incredibly and so separate restraints may be required. Virtually any length and
diameter can be built to mechanically seal a variety of applications.

We have the capabilities of manufacturing plugs with special body and seal
materials for chemical or high temperature applications. Body materials include
stainless steel (304, 316, 400), carbon steel, brass, Teflon, Delrin, CPVC and more.
Special seal materials include Nitrile (Buna N), Silicone, EPDM, and Viton.
Custom flanged top plugs available to 96” and up to 150 PSI pressure ratings. Ideal for
underwater applications where area behind plug is to be dewatered. Flange safely secures
plug in place with the head pressure acting against it as a brace. Face seals can also be used for
double seal capabilities.
Product Features
• Faster flange repairs and retrofits
• Safe and easy to use.
• With the weld area completely isolated, there is no need to fill the entire line or vessel.
• Pressure testing and weld purging in 1 simple tool.
TEST WITHOUT BLIND FLANGES, NO NEED TO PURGE • Test pressures to 3000 PSI. Sizes to 30 inches.

FLANGE JOINT.
Product Description
Qwik flange weld test plug enables you to, isolate and purge the weld area, complete the weld
and hydrotest with one tool, saving time and purge gas. Designed for fast, simple installation.
Simply insert the plug into the pipe to be welded, bolt the flanges together and tighten
compression nut.
ROV PLUGS
COB Industries, Inc. manufactures custom engineered ROV plugs for offshore subsea pipelines.
ROV Pipe Plugs are designed to be ROV-operable, meaning they must be built so that underwater
Remote Operated Vehicles (“ROV’s”) can handle, install and manipulate them. The plugs
incorporate mechanically actuated seals and one version also has a “guide cone” on the front
to help guide the plug into the pipe while being controlled by the ROV arm. COB was first
contracted by BP to build ROV operable plugs in 2007 and has expanded this business steadily
over the last few years with repeated orders from offshore oil platforms.
COB Industries has the unique ability to produce these plugs within a brief period of time to meet almost any specific requirements including
various sizes and pressure capabilities. These plugs have been used with remarkable success by some of the largest builders and contractors in the
U.S. and around the world, often produced to provide solutions for urgent situations in a short period of time.
No matter what the details of the application or the logistics involved, chances are that COB Industries can provide the best possible solution.
Normal delivery for custom plugs is around 2 weeks, but rush jobs can be completed in as little as 48 hours.
