COURSE TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
I. Course Description:
This course provides you with the principles, knowledge, and techniques for managing human
resource in organizations. In today competitive environment organizations need to have sound
human resources strategies that are inextricably linked to their business goals and strategies.
Incidents and cases are used to diagnose human resource problems, and design and implement
solutions. This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the strategic role
that HR plays in organizations: topics includes human resource acquisition (job design and
analysis, human resource planning, recruiting, selection), training and development, performance
appraisal, compensation and rewards, employment law, collective bargaining and labor relations,
human resources management for international operations and cross-cutting issues in human
resource management. The course stresses the evaluation of human resource programs, and the
need for human resource management practices to be compatible with one another and to be
supportive of the firm’s strategy.
