1) A hemispherical window experiences a pressure of 0.5 MPa which results in a total force of 1000 kN on the window. 2) With a yield strength of 150 MPa for the bolts and a cross sectional area per bolt of π×10×10^-3 m^2, 22 bolts would be required to support the 1000 kN force within the allowable stress. 3) 22 bolts is calculated to be the minimum integer number of bolts required to attach the hemispherical window to the wall within the yield strength of the bolts.
