Dialogue Writing: Write a dialogue on the given situation:

a. Check-in procedure for bellboys after receiving rooming instructions from the desk clerk

Please ensure that all the details indicated below are indicated in your dialogue (written scrip) between
you, as the bellboy, and the guest:

Guest checks in for the first time in the hotel, assigned to room 205, a deluxe room equipped with
jacuzzi, TV and aircon with remote control, hot and cold shower, telephone with NDD/IDD service, room
service 24 hours, laundry service. The hotel has a coffee shop, an entertainment bar with ballroom
dancing at night, swimming pool. Show how you will escort the guest and sell hotel services.

Bellboy: Good morning ma’am! Welcome to Golden Hotel (opening the boot of the car) May I transfer
your luggage to the lobby ma’am ?

Guest: Yes, Please. Thank you

Bellboy will move forward briskly, open the main entrance door, and stand in a courteous posture,
gesturing to the guest, to step in to the lobby.

(pointing towards the front desk with an open palm gesture)

Bellboy: The reception is over there ma’am.

Transfer the guest baggage to the Bell Desk; put them through the standard security mechanism like
scanning machines, metal detectors and sniffer dogs, where available. Then put the luggage tag on each
piece of baggage, and wait for the check-in process to get over.

(Receptionist:) (summoning the bellboy through phone or the Bell) please escort Ms. Thompson to room
number 205

Bellboy: Good morning Ms. Thompson. Are you ready to go to your room?

Guest: Yes, I am

Bellboy: Before that, could you verify the number of your baggage please? This way ma’am (Go to Bell
Desk) Is this all your baggage ma'am? How’s many pieces of baggage do you have, ma’am?
Guest: 2 pieces

Count the number of bags, suitcase, hand bags, packages, and overcoats etc. Put room number on each
tag, and hand over the counterfoil to the guest.

Bellboy: Ms. Thompson, These are your claim tags, 2 in total. We shall bring up to your room in about 10
minutes time. Is there anything valuable, or breakable in your bag? For valuable items, I suggest you use
the Safety Lockers, available at the Front Desk.

Guest: No, nothing valuable or breakable is in the baggage.

Bellboy: I shall escort you to your room. The elevator is over there. May I borrow your room key, Ms.
Thompson?

Guest: Oh. Sure.

Walk forward, and open the elevator door. Keep the button pressed to prevent untimely closing of the
door. Gesture (open palm always) the guest to sleep to step in.

Bellboy: Please step in ma’am

While escorting the guest, the bellboy explain about general information about hotel and facilities. In
this moment, the bellboy try to promote the hotel’s product.

Bellboy: Excuse me Ms. Thompson. Allow me to explain the hotel facilities.

Guest: Yes sure.

Bellboy: Alright ma’am, for your information, our restaurant is located on the first floor next to the Pool
Bar. It is open start from 07:00am – 12.00am. We serve a buffet breakfast from 07:00 am – 11:00 am,
lunch and dinner. We have a coffee shop located on the ground floor. It is open from 7:00 am – 12 am
beside the entertainment bar with ballroom at night and also we have a gym which is located on the
ground floor the same floor behind the lobby.

About the swimming pool ma’am. It is located on the first floor as well as on the last floor of the hotel.

Upon reaching the designated floor, step out, and wait for the guest to come out.

Bellboy: This way please. This is your room ma’am. Room number 205.

Insert your card key here to open the door. (show how to open the door)

Insert your card key in this slot, to switch on the power supply. When you take it out, it automatically
shuts-off the power supply.

Guest: Ok, Thank you

Bellboy: (After switching on the lights) how do you like your room ma’am?

Guest: great! I like it.


Bellboy: Do you mind if I put these bags here on the luggage rack?

Guest: Yes, sure.

Bellboy: Excuse me Ms. Thompson, May I explain you about the room facilities now?

Guest: Yes, sure

Bellboy: Alright, Your room is a deluxe room equipped with jacuzzi. Your room service is 24 hours
ma’am.

Let’s start from the corner first, this is your telephone with NDD/IDD service. If you want to do a local
and international call please dial your destination number with area or country number first, and
following by your destination number. If you want a operator service please dial 0, dial 1 for calling
room service, dial 2 for calling front desk, dial 3 for restaurant, dial 4 for housekeeping and laundry
service, as well as dial 5 if you need other something.

Guest: Alright

Bellboy: Well, this is your 14 inches television Ms. Thompson. It has 99 channel. If you want to know
about your bill please choose channel 1, if you want to know about Hotel facilities you could choose
channel 2. For a local and international channel please find it on the channel list.

Guest: Great.

Bellboy: This is your refrigerator. If you want to keep your snack, you could use your refrigerator.

Guest: Ok

Bellboy: This is the remote control for your air conditioning. And this is your wardrobe. Please use the
hanger to hang your fabric. This is your laundry bag. If you have dirty clothes and want to wash them in
our hotel, please place them in the laundry bag in front of your room. Before 10 a.m., our Vale will
collect your laundry. Please sign the laundry price list before leaving.

There is also a safety deposit box. Keep your valuables in the safety deposit box with the three-digit
secret number or character.

Guest: Alright

Bellboy: This is your dressing table. If you have a beauty case or hand bag, please put on the dressing
table. There is a drawer as well include the hotel stationary. This is free of charges for you, Ms.
Thompson.

Guest: That’s nice

Bellboy: Now, let's move to your bath room Ms. Thompson. This is your shower, you have cold and hot
water. If you want hot water please press the red button and for cold water please press the blue one.
This is your toilet bowl. For flashing, you just press the flashing button on the toilet bowl.

Ms. Thompson, this is your bath tub. The water could be either hot or cold. The procedure is the same
as with your shower. The hot water button is red, and the cold water button is blue. You can also
arrange for a private massage, ma’am. Please inquire about aromatherapy in our medicine store
adjacent to the lobby.

Guest: That’s good

Bellboy: This is your washbasin. Please wash your hand or face with the guest amenities. Our room
attendant will change or refill your amenities every day.

Guest: Good

Bellboy: That’s all about the bath room. Please follow me Ms. Thompson.

Guest: Sure, no problem.

Bellboy: This your Kitchen ma’am . If you want to prepare your breakfast or meal, you are able to use
your kitchen.

Guest: Ok

Bellboy: That’s all about the room facilities that I could explain to you. This is your room key and guest
card. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Guest: No thanks, You’ve been really helpful. Thank you very much.

Bellboy: Your welcome ma’am! If you need any assistance, and if you have any questions. Please don’t
hesitate to call up the Guest Services Control Desk, or the Front Desk.

Guest: Sure, Thank you

Bellboy: My pleasure, we'll have a good day and enjoy your stay here in Golden Hotel.
