Solution:
Aspen Simulation Workbook (ASW) excel integration add-in allows
exporting data from excel to the process simulation software where data
would be processed and results could be sent back to excel for analysis
and visualization.
In order to ensure effective utilization of the data available from the plant,
Microsoft Excel will be acting as a hub between the plant data retrieved
from the data historian system (DCS, OSI PI, Aspen IP21, ….etc.) and
the process simulation case.

In the above case we are have retrieved compressor data from the data
historian system for a certain period and we are going to develop a
Open:
- Go to Excel options:
Restart Excel!
Now, we can start linking the simulation case to Excel via ASW:
- Enable ASW
-
- After selected, we still have to connect it, click Connect:
- It might take time to connect with the desired case, make sure that
the file is not linked/opened with other excel files
Or in V.11:
- After adding the variables, close the organizer window, add new
sheet and generate new Scenario Table:
- Click Finish:
- Fill the table data by linking the table cells to Data Historian sheet,
make sure that composition is in fraction not percent (i.e total
components fraction =1 not 100):
- If you want to save a simulation file for each case you might check
the Save Copy checkbox as follows:
Now you can see the table filled with the results from simulation:
