Career Experience.
March 2021-May 2021: Engineering intern.
Ministry of water and environment under water for production Regional Centre
East. (WfPRC-E Mbale).
Facilitated in carrying out responsibilities, which included installation of
PVC irrigation pipes, sprinkler heads and riser and many components.
Carried out maintenance of irrigation systems such as detecting leakages,
faulty valves, spoilt values and rectifying them.
Acquired knowledge on the procedure undertaken to establish an
irrigation system in a given community, such as selection of potential
sites, carrying out feasibility studies, sensitisation of the locals by
sociologist, surveying the area, designing the irrigation system and the
finally implementation.
Writing weekly reports of the activities done in each week and submitted
to the attached engineer.
Gained skills in connecting irrigation pipes, designing drainage system for
a particular field faced by floods.
Attended meetings based sensitisation of locals on the importance of
irrigation schemes within the locality.
Gained knowledge on sustainability established irrigation schemes.
Factors to consider when choosing and irrigation method to use and a site
for dam construction.
