SELF-INTRODUCTION (JIKOSHOUKAI)

In this journey, we will learn about the easy way in introducing names in
Japanese. The following are the information you need to introduce:

a. Name d. Nationality g. Hobby


b. Age e. Language
c. Address f. Profession

Introducing your name

Three ways in introducing your name:


 Watashi wa SURNAME, FIRST NAME desu
I am _______________.

 Watashi no namae wa SURNAME, FIRST NAME desu.


My name is _________.

 Watashi wa SURNAME, FIRST NAME to moushimasu.


I am _______________.

*NOTE
 Minnasan means everybody
 Use hajimemashite only when you meet the person/s for the first time.

Examples:

Watashi wa ICHIDO KATSUJI desu


I am Katsuji Ichido

How to tell the age? (number + sai)

15 years old - Juu go sai
16 years old - Juu roku sai
17 years old - Juu nana sai
18 years old - Juuhassai
19 years old - Juukyuu sai
20 years old - Nijuu sai/ hatachi
21 years old - Nijuu issai
24 years old - Nijuuyon sai
30 years old - Sanjuu sai
