Dear David Smith


Congratulations!

It is with the greatest pleasure I advise that your application for candidature and
scholarship in the Doctor of Philosophy (062206F) in the School of Languages and
Linguistics have been approved. Listed below are the scholarships being offered:
• Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship – Living Allowance
• Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship – Tuition fee
and OSHC

The conditions of this offer – You will be required to provide the following:
• A certified or original copy of your academic transcripts and IELTS certificate

• Fully completed and signed Acceptance of Offer form.

• You will be required to provide a copy of your passport and visa for sighting upon
your enrolment in Australia.

If you are unable to provide the documentation as outlined above by the due date of 27
July 2012, we are obliged to withdraw the offer.
If you have not already provided original or certified documentation confirming your
academic qualifications and English Language Proficiency (as defined in the eligibility
requirements in the scholarship conditions of award), you must do so by 27 July 2012
or this offer of scholarship will be withdrawn. Submission of scanned or electronic
copies do not fulfil this requirement.
This offer is based on undertaking full-time candidature. If you wish to undertake your
candidature on a part-time basis you must submit a case to the Dean, Griffith Graduate
Research School for consideration.
Please use the Higher Degree Research Scholarship Offer Response form to confirm
your intention to accept your candidature and scholarship offer and indicate your
intention to reside in or relocate to Brisbane/Gold Coast.
The scholarship is valid from 1 July 2012 and as an award holder you are expected to
commence study by 31 August 2012. If you have exceptional circumstances that
prevent you from commencing by that date, the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research
School may approve a delayed commencement. Full details of the reasons for the
request will be required. If a delayed commencement is approved and you cannot
commence by the approved date, the University may withdraw the offer.
Responding to your Offer – Due Date – 13 July 2012
If accepting, please complete and return the following:
Higher Degree Research Response to Offer form; and

 Higher Degree Research Scholarship Stipend Claim form (Domestic students only);
and

 Statistical Information and Enrolment Declaration form; and

 Documentation as requested in the conditions of offer as outlined above.

If declining, please complete and return the:

 Higher Degree Research Response to Offer form; or

 E-mail: hdr-scholarship@griffith.edu.au so your offer can be passed on without


delay.

We look forward to receiving your advice by the due date. Once provided, the Higher
Degree Research Student Centre will arrange for enrolment documentation and any
additional information to be issued to you.
