PROCESS IN CREATING POSITIVE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

Based on our lesson tonight, Curriculum is the heart of any learning institution. It is the heart
of every educational institution because it gives life and vigor to the country’s educational system,
which would, in turn, greatly affect the country’s economy. The school or universities cannot
function properly without it. It must undergo development; it is neither stagnant nor haphazard. It
has to be well-planned, purposeful, progressive and systematic in its process of creating positive
improvements in the educational system.

Curriculum development has to be planned to create positive improvements in the


educational system. The key to a successful curriculum begins with well-written plans that support
the overall curriculum. Everything has to follow the established design in creating an improved
curriculum. It has to meet the purpose set from the conception of developing curriculum to the new
and revised curriculum that will meet the needs of the present educational system. It has to undergo
a rigid planning before the implementation of a new curriculum otherwise the educational system
will turn to a trial-and-error system of education which will greatly affect not only the economy of
the country but also the educational product of our system, which is the graduates of our
Institutions.

Curriculum development is purposeful in order to create positive improvements in the


educational system. Curriculums are always written with a specific purpose in mind or it would not
be a curriculum. It would take into consideration all the necessary teaching tools required to achieve
the stated purpose. It must provide answers or solutions to the world’s pressing concerns. Whatever
current situation the country is in, it has to be integrated in the curriculum to better improve the
educational system of the country, country’s economy and the welfare of the people residing in it.

Curriculum development has to be progressive to create positive improvements in the


educational system. In developing Curriculum, one must focus on what is ahead and not on what is
in the past. It has to be guided by modern experiences and learnings without breaching the country’s
national identity and history. It has to ensure the economy’s growth and stability in creating a well-
integrated and improved curriculum to better address the needs of one’s educational system. The
curriculum must coincide with the Executive’s vision for his people and the nation to better address
the society’s needs.

Curriculum development has to have a systematic process to create positive


improvements in the educational system. Curriculum development follows a series of actions or
steps in order to achieve a new and improved curriculum. It is never an instant endeavor. It studies,
analyzes, designs, selects the formations and review the whole process. It facilitates understanding
and handling of a complex situation or phenomena. It is a way of looking at the empirical world in
which individual phenomena are viewed as interrelated rather than isolated ones. It works from
micro level to the macro level of organizational change.

Finally, Curriculum development is never ending. To meet the present time, it will always be
planned, purposeful, progressive and systematic process to create positive improvements in the
educational system.
