These torque values are to be used only where no other specific torque is given in a service
manual or other publication.

Flanged bolts to be zinc plated. Flanged nuts to be prevailing torque type, cadmium plated
and waxed. No supplementary lubrication to be used, on threads or flanges.
*These values are for Class 9.8 bolts; all other values are for Class 10.9 bolts.

SAE Grade 8, zinc plated, Non-Lubricated, using only free-spinning or nylon collar
locknuts.
SAE Grade 5, zinc plated, Non-Lubricated, using only free-spinning or nylon collar
locknuts.
Uncoated pipe plugs must be coated with a pipe thread sealant. If pipe plug is Teflon
coated, no sealer of any kind is to be applied to either the plug or the tapped hole.
