Explain it using your own ideas.

 Students begin their investigation of motive by generating ideas


about why people communicate and organizing them into the
three basic categories identified by media scholars as informing,
persuading, and entertaining. Communication serves five major
purposes: to inform, express feelings, imagine, influence, and
meet social expectations. Each of these goals is reflected in a
form of communication.
2. What makes communication purposeful?

 Mindful communication is purposeful communication.


Consider the message you're attempting to convey.
Transparent and authentic communication means saying what
you mean and meaning what you say. Purposeful
communication has very clear goals; the message being
relayed has a task to complete.
