We express our gratitude to Prof. Mamta Singh for providing us the opportunity to work on

the project “Earn Goodwill”. It was a delightful experience to work on this social venture

and every member of “Group 7” participated actively in the project. We would also like to

thank Director CIMP Dr. Rana Singh for motivating us to garner the experience on how a

manager can help to society. This assignment is a small attempt to express our gratitude to

our parents, teachers, and philanthropists who taught us that education can make a difference

and we are the ones who can bring the change that we want to see in the world.

Executive Summary

This document is a report on the “Earn Goodwill” project. We took this project as an

opportunity to educate deprived and underprivileged children of our society. In attempt to

pilot our motive, we approached an NGO situated in Patna, near our locality. The NGO “Be

For Nation”, founded to Serve and support humanity. It Aims to upscale the education

among children, especially the ones who are socially deprived and belong to economically

weaker sections of the society.

We arranged a meeting of our entire group with the responsible authorities there, we also

took cognisance on how they bring children to their foundation and the challenges they face

in doing so. We also had a brief discussion on how they manage the collection of funds for

their organization. Our couple of visits to the NGO made it clear for us to choose how we

would like to take on this project. We wanted to educate the curious beautiful minds and

though we conducted some classes as our efforts to help those children. The foundation is

doing an excellent work for those children, and we also wanted to contribute with our share

of responsibilities. Due to time constraint, we could not carry on the sessions for a longer

duration. Despite of it, we tried our best to interact with the children, learn about their issues

and help them with the same. We taught them different subjects including Science, English,

Computer and Mathematics. We would further like to continue with this project, helping the

NGO with its aim to garner education among the deprived and the underprivileged sections

of our society.

About Assignment

The project Goodwill is an initiative to inculcate values and a sense of social responsibility

in students of CIMP. Businesses are focusing on the corporate social responsibility of the

corporate world towards the society we live in. Companies nowadays invest actively in CSR

activities. Being a socially responsible company can bolster a company’s image and build its

brand social responsibility empowers employees to leverage the corporate resources at their

disposal to do good. A formal corporate social responsibility program can boost employee

morale and lead to great productivity in the workforce.

As an outcome of this project, we expected to learn about challenges and difficulties that an

NGO faces and how our learning in a b school can bring well-being in society.

About NGO

“BE FOR NATION” is a foundation which is formed to serve and support humanity for

public welfare and for this it is specializes in different fields such as Health, Education,

Employment, and others while laying more emphasis on Education. Currently it is engaged

in educating students belonging to lower strata of the society.

Aims & Objectives

 “BE FOR NATION” Supporting Humanity is a foundation led with specialization in

different fields such as Health, Education & Employment.

 It encourages the education and social work to donate any surplus needs they may

have that they will not need in the future.

 The main aim of BE FOR CHANGE is too upscale the education among society

especially for the socially deprived / poor and economically weaker section of the

society.

Our Observations

• The All the children were full of enthusiasm.

• They were curious to learn and understand.

• The classrooms were not conducted as per “Standards” rather named alphabetically.

• The classes also include children from different standards, it is to help those children

who have moved to higher standards but lack basic understanding of lower standards.

• All the children were amazingly creative.

• Some of them had exceptional drawing skills, while some had great singing talent.

• It helps women and girls to learn stitching and earn their living.

• It also had a smart classroom where they learn to use computer, the class is run by a

foreigner.

Our Initiatives

• We have decided to visit the NGO, at least once every week.

• We have also decided to promote the NGO on social media and through blogging.

• We all will inspire economically capable people to sponsor the education of at least

one child per family.

• We may also plan to organize crowdfunding for them.

• We are going to convince our family to sponsor the education of at least one deprived

child.

• We will identify such children who are deprived and inform the NGO to help them out

of their misery.

Takeaways

• Food and Education are still beyond the reach of many children.

• Learning has no age, class, gender, or religion.

• Creativity and skills are beyond money.

• Innocence has a cruel face of “MATURITY”.

• Struggle is everywhere and so does happiness.
