Carl Justin and I will be your host and news anchor for today
SEGMENT 1
Reporter: In the field of Science, let us talk about typhoons. Haiyan or Yolanda
in the Philippines is one of the strongest typhoons in the whole
world. This was formed on November 3, 2013 and reached 315
kilometer per hour. This typhoon wreaked havoc the Philippines. It
destroyed a lot of crops and infrastructures. Because of this, a lot of
people were evacuated and a lot of Filipinos were injured. We
cannot prevent hazards but we can mitigate the risk. The best
weapon we can have is preparedness. In every disaster, a first aid
aid kit can help us to treat minor injuries and save our lives.
First, we have an alcohol that can help us to disinfect the wounds.
We have gauze pad to cover the wounds. We also have betadine
betadine wound solution to treat the wounds. We have
thermometer to check the temperature. A whistle to call the
attention of rescuers. And an oral solution to make our mouth
clean. Flashlight for dark places. Extra clothes, face masks and
toiletries for hygiene. Medicine like paracetamol for treating
minor aches. Canned goods and bottled water for emergency
food.
23. Reporter: Here are some to dos before, during, and after a typhoon.
Before a typhoon always listen to the forecast, check your
houses if there are damages. Prepare your survival kit. Know the
the evacuation site and hotline numbers. During the typhoon, stay
inside your own houses. In case of flood turn off the main source of
electricity and evacuate immediately. After the typhoon, examine
your house. Check if the plugs were covered with water. In case your
area is flooded, boil your drinking water to avoid contamination.
And lastly keep updated on the latest weather reports.
Aside from being the source of food, our nature especially the tree
can help us to lessen the impact of typhoons. So, we must be taking
care of it. Here are some of the ways that we can do to preserve
the environment. First, let us stop throwing garbage everywhere.
Second, we must not cut a lot of trees. Third, we must not pick any
flowers and plants that we see. Fourth, we must clean the
surroundings. And fifth, we must teach other people on how to take
care of the environment so everyone will give importance to the
environment.
SEGMENT 2
Reporter: As we can see in the graph, through the years, the number of
Philippines increase but a downtrend from 2013 to 2014. It may
be because of the global warming that we are currently
experiencing.
SEGMENT 3
Reporter: Tumungo naman tayo sa usapang pangkabuhayan. Mula sa mga
kahoy, maaari tayong makagawa ng mga upuan, lamesa, tukador,
kabinet at iba pa.
bahay kubo.
SEGMENT 4 PLAY: HAPPY

shapes and figures. One of the types of origami is an action
origami. It allows the model to be interactable and do
something. This is a fortune teller origami. It is an origami

SEGMENT 5
