IMPLEMENTATION
implementation or implementation is as a
process of implementing ideas, concepts, and
curriculum policies in a learning activity, so
that students master certain sets of
competencies as a result of interaction with
the environment.
Mulyana (2006) explains that the implementation of
competency-based curriculum (KBK) in its outline
covers the main activities, namely:

1. Program development.
2. Implementation of learning
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

A curriculum that emphasizes the complex outcomes of


a learning process (i.e. knowledge, skills and attitudes to
be applied by learners) rather than mainly focusing on
what learners are expected to learn about in terms of
traditionally-defined subject content.
In principle such a curriculum is learner-centred and
adaptive to the changing needs of students, teachers
and society. It implies that learning activities and
environments are chosen so that learners can acquire
and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes to
situations they encounter in everyday life.
Competency-based curricula are usually designed
around a set of key competences/competencies that
can be cross-curricular and/or subject-bound.
IMPLEMENTATION OF LEARNING

Implementation is an ongoing process of


identifying and putting into practice the strategies
needed to realize those goals both at the
individual, team, school, and district levels.
The implementation of learning CBC requires
continuous and improved competences, skills and
knowledge among teachers. To achieve this, Bigogwe
sector, with support from REB has established and
trained a pool of trainers who support all teachers to
acquire the necessary competences for CBC
implementation.
