The document summarizes the data collection and statistical analysis procedures used in a research study. It discusses obtaining approval to conduct the study, obtaining participant consent, administering a survey to participants, and using statistical methods like Slovin's formula and percentage frequency distribution to analyze the data. The questionnaire was distributed to 129 hospitality management students divided among years and contained demographic questions and Likert scale questions to obtain quantitative results.

Data Collection Procedure

 We, the researchers, made sure that our study has the approval and permission by the
school to conduct our data collection from our target respondents. To start, we oriented
our respondents by talking about the confidentiality of their personal information, so we
politely asked for their consent to use their answers to the survey for our research.
Moreover, during the survey, each participant was given ample time to answer the
questions. We told the respondents that data gathering was voluntary too, so they have
the right to withdraw anytime. Upon the agreement with them, we divided them to
different schedules to proceed on answering the survey questions we prepared. After
answering all questions, we instructed them to hand over their survey answers for cross
checking or validation if all the questions were answered as they were intended. After
that, we reviewed and commented on returned survey answers or results by using the
statistical treatment.

Statistical Treatment of Data

 For the statistical analysis, we used the Slovin’s formula for the estimation of the
suitable sample size given the total target population from the research locale. By using
Slovin’s formula, we are confident that our survey results are not biased and can
represent the target population we selected. Furthermore, since the research design is
descriptive quantitative research, we think that the most appropriate statistical analysis
method is the percentage frequency distribution formula. Due to this, we can utilize this
analysis to indicate the proportion of observations for each data point or collection of
data points from our collected survey results. It was a very helpful way methodology for
us because it was able to illustrate the relative frequency of survey replies and outlined
the demographics of the respondents. Furthermore, we also asked for a help of a
statistician and they used an external application which was the Statistical Package of
Social Sciences or SPSS for doing the paired t-test or dependent/correlated t-test. By
doing this, we are able to see the means and errors of the focused variables in our study
to see if they are significantly different.

Questionnaire
 For the making and preparation of our Questionnaire, we ensured that we distributed it
to a total of one hundred and twenty-nine respondents coming from the hospitality
management students of STI college dasmariñas. Moreover, we divided them to 55 2 nd
years, 40 3rd years, and 34 4th year students. Our questionnaire is structured and self-
made with three pages. The first page contains the permission letter to survey, and the
2 and 3 are for the actual questionnaires. Part I was for the demographic profile, while
part II was for filter questions and part III was for the general questions. Them, the part
IV was created to see the level of agreement and disagreement. Now, we used the 4-
point likert scale to ger the objective and quantitative results of the survey.
