1. In the first paragraph, it states that change began with the arrival of Huseng Sisiw and
Balagtas. Wherein they are the one who introduces our culture to other natives through
their works like poems in order to express their thoughts about Spanish domination in our
country.

2. In the second paragraph, our country is gradually changing due to the presence of
American colonianism. This where the foreign language emerged but the tradition of
native poetry and tagalog poetry, which preserves our own language, did not disappeared.

3. In the third paragraph, Filipino writers had their own style in creating different form of
literature prior to the arrival of colonizers. The influence of our colonizers in terms of our
writing added some style that makes it unique.

4. In the fourth paragraph, it demonstrates how powerful the Americans who colonize us,
and how their English language is used as an instrument in conquering us, which has a
strong impact on Filipinos that results in the disappearance of our own literature as well
as culture.

5. In the fifth paragraph, the national language become the second language. In order to
empower and preserved the Filipino language, Filipinos reinforce to introduce the
“Surian and Wikang Pambansa” a set of lectures to promote and strengthen Filipino
language during the Americanization.

6. In the sixth paragraph, Galauran and Regalo lecture has more on criticizing the Filipino
people embracing American literature because in lack of education. Filipino people are
observed on foreign culture but the culture themselves does not recognized.

7. In the seventh paragraph, we can see here the Tagalog story works by the talented
writers. Many trials were passed just to produce an article for them to write what the
people said there have no such information to report on them.

8. In the eight paragraph, it states that when Maikling kwento was created it really brings a
great impact to the Filipinos especially to all writers whereas this is great opportunity for
them to recognize in different area or place.
9. In the ninth paragraph, it states here the importance of short stories that serves as a way to
entails the gallant Filipino traits. It describes here their lives and personalities as well as
the changes in their values that were influenced by American colonizers.

10. In the last paragraph, identified the short story as a specific form of literature and in this
certain day Taliba become on of the person who published short stories that become the
culmination of the history of short story development.
